Miami (OH) @ Florida

  I am befuddled that Florida had 28 yards of total offense late in this game against Miami of Ohio. Granted, Florida will improve because they have an exceptional coach and a bevy of athletes, but I know every Florida fan has to be disgusted today.

  Florida looked awful....I mean if I'm an SEC team I'm licking my chops to get back at the Gators after dominating the past few years. I think it's time for a new king in the SEC East

  That game reminded me of OSU-Navy. I said here before #4 is way too high for this team that sent 5 juniors and 4 seniors to the NFL this year. Florida came out of the tunnel not ready to play. Took Miami too lightly. Pouncey sucked, bad. The Oline was awful. Johnson was out, with that I'd have preferred to see Pouncey at Guard and Robey at Center. Robey's dad was a hoops star at Kentucky. Brantley struggled, can't play well when you're chasing the snaps on the ground. He is a solid QB. Good news is the defense played well with 9 true freshmen on the 2 deep and a handful of new coaches. Just need to fix the Oline or USF will give Skip a big win next week. What an awful game today by Florida, not even top 40. To put it in perspective, on my way home I had to detour because of a plane crash, one person died about 10-15 miles from my house, and a W is better than death, so I can't complain.

  The make shift O-line, with 3 guys out, wasn't that big of a problem today. The 13 center-qb exchanges were the problem. Too to evaluate anything else with that going on. If you ask LJ that will continue every game, so it might be a 7 loss season. lol

  when did I say they played well? The defense aboslutely played well. The offense was bad because they couldn't snap the ball. You saw what Demps could do when he got a seem. You saw Brantley complete 67% of his passes with 2TD's and 0 picks. You also saw what happens when you have 13 bad snaps.

  Okay this thread is what I've been waiting for. Finally another top power struggles as badly in a cupcake game as OSU has over the past couple years (think OU when we needed a PUNT RETURN TD to beat OU).
  
  
  OSU fans were quick to dismiss that performance as merely an early season game and nothing to worry about, but those same fans are now on here exclaiming how bad Florida will be.
  
  
  If anyone ever needed proof of the Scarlet blinders on here, this is it, in a nutshell.
  
  Did Florida look bad? Offensively there were a lot of mistakes but the defense really stepped it up. But it's one game, an early season game. If the snapping problems continue then it will be a long season, but if they don't, this team will be just fine. Too many athletes on this team to not win at least 10 games.

  Miami is one of the worst D1 teams in the nation. I would hope with all of those crazy recruiting classes their second stringers could handle the Redhawks easily

  As an OSU fan I was irate after the OU game and the the Navy squeaker. I've said it numerous times....what a poster(s) says/said about OSU or any team for that matter does not speak for the entire fanbase.

  Florida played 15 true freshmen yesterday. Meyer seemed calm after the game. I've watched the replay this morning on Sunsports, about to watch Meyer's weekly tv show. USF has lots of skill, its going to be hot next Sat. I hope Nixon makes it back with Johnson. Patchan might be in time for Tenn. I think Oline is suffering because Addazio is busy with Off. Co. tasks.

  He hasn't shown it. He is maybe NOW a better QB than Pryor was as a freshman, but Pryor played against better competition Thursday night and looked to be a FAR better QB than Brantley. I mean shit, Brantley's YPA was 4.5 yesterday, that is BAD. He is a checkdown QB.
