Big 10 network needs a new camera man
-
Ankle BreakerJust thought I'd send in an app to BTN even though I have no experience - as I missed about half the game last night. The worst I've seen. I'm just sayin'.
-
vball10setat times, yes..but IMO, overall pretty good
-
baseballstud24I noticed this too...Especially on a play action. Pryor went completely out of the shot. It happened like 3-4 times.
-
believerNot that I have any particular love for BTN, it's fair to say they do not have - nor will they ever have - the resources of ESPN, ABC, and CBS. The fact that most Big 10 games are now televised by one of these networks is a luxury.
Not long ago we were lucky to see the Buckeyes on television 3 or 4 times a season and that was usually the Michigan game, a bowl game, and one or two other key games.
To be honest I remember a time when the Ohio State Football Radio Network was just about the only way to follow the Buckeyes.
I only say all this because I'm not understanding all the criticism of BTN..."it is what it is!" -
vball10set^^^+1....good post
-
khujoAnybody else find the color commentator last night hard to take? I felt like he desperately tried to fill any dead air with just random talk.
-
karen lotz^^^^
Yes, he used several analogies that I never heard of. Jansport backpack coverage, playing the piano, skittles just to name a few. -

I turned the television down and listened to the game on the radio. It was a little out of sync but I was able to hear the voice of God do the play by play. -

I can remember having to listen to a couple shitty Michigan games on the radio (Michigan vs. some MAC school). I'm 24, and I can remember doing this in jr. high (99/2000). Like believer said, the fact that I can watch all 12 Michigan games now is a luxury.
Do you know how hard it is living in Michigan right on the OH border and try to watch the Steelers play? I don't care who was the camera man, I would love to see more Steelers games on TV. If they ever came up with an AFC North network, I'd buy it just for that. -

no...I was concentrating on the game, and could really care less about the color guy. It was on television for my viewing pleasure, and that's all I cared about.khujo;470326 wrote:Anybody else find the color commentator last night hard to take? cats gone wildI was watching the beginning of the game, but had to turn the game off. The whole big ten network was annoying and years behind the basic sports channels.
-
vball10set^^^LMAO...btw, do you subscribe to the SEC Network?
-
cats gone wildNo, I dont need to. They have plenty, or almost every LSU game on the main channels here. I do like the SEC channel though when I go down south for vacation 2-3 times a year. I think the b10 network has a ways to go.

I thought you might say that, because my brother down in Lakeland says the announcers suck, and the camera work is shoddy--sound familiar?? it's all perception, cats -
cats gone wildBasically, Ive watched the channel and they just talk about SEC football around the clock all year and show tons of repeats from seasons past (which most of the games are probably recorded from the main channels) and I just liked it. Im not into the Big10 so I dont watch the channel regularly, so I dont know what they do. I just know the game was poorly done last night. I cant remember if Ive even watched a game while I was down there done by the SEC channel.

gerb131Paul Keels didn't miss a beat.

Didn't pay attention. Was hanging with a large group of friends, so our talking, yelling, etc. overrode anything any announcer was saying. -
vball10set^^^this...best way to watch a Buckeye game is in a loud bar with a huge TV and lots & lots of cold beer!!!

believer
Agreed.gerb131;470610 wrote:Paul Keels didn't miss a beat.
Regardless of which television network happens to be broadcasting the OSU game I want to watch, I turn down the volume on the HD television and crank up Paul Keels on the Ohio State Buckeye Radio Network on my home entertainment system.
No need to deal with annoying BTN color commentators, Brent Musberger, or anyone else I deem "anti-Buckeye".........
Works great! -
cats gone wildSEC Network is on local cable today, and its been like watching ESPN. Much better than the B10 network.
-
believer^^^Does the SEC Network have greater speed than BTN? lol
-
cats gone wildmost definitely!!!!
