Taylor Graham

se-alumAny chance Graham is the post-Pryor QB for the Buckeyes?? I've read alot of good things about him during camp. Bigtime arm and very composed for a Freshman. He'll obviously redshirt this year. It will be interesting to see how he develops over the next couple years.
-
OneBuckeyeI think there will be a very good chance he could play next year if Pryor leaves early. He is throwing for a very high completion percentage in practices and scrimmages. If he and Kenny keep performing and improving at their current level the QB contest will be very interesting even if Pryor doesn't leave, who do you play when you have Graham RS soph Guiton RS junior and Miller RS Freshman? That battle will be very interesting, but I think Grahams best chances for starting are if Pryor leaves early.

wkfanPost pryor will be Braxton Miller....more than likely IMO

thedynasty1998Graham will always be a backup. Pryor isn't leaving after this year, and Miller comes in next year and takes over his red shirt freshman (or sophomore season).

I think that is the most likely scenario, but I also thought Justin Zwick was going to be a four year starter if he didn't go pro after his junior year. Injuries could also be a factor. -

Obviously injuries change everything. But if everything goes according to plan, Tressel sees Graham was a quality backup.
Also, I never understood the fascination with Zwick. I saw him for the first time at the North/South game at Crew stadium his senior year, and I remember going away from the game totally unimpressed. He just lacked the accuracy and the strong arm you would expect from a 5* recruit. -

It will be very interesting. I was high on Guiton, but if he hasn't overtaken Bauserman as the clear #2, I'm a little concerned with his progress, as Bauserman is downright terrible.OneBuckeye;460335 wrote:I think there will be a very good chance he could play next year if Pryor leaves early. I don't think Tress see's anyone as just a quality back-up, until they have proven so. We've seen Tressel play many unheralded recruits over "star" recruits(see Malcolm Jenkins, Lil Animal, Anderson Russell). -

Although I agree with you, it's a little bit of a different situation at QB. Only one can play, so it's hard to get your chance to prove yourself in game action unless something happens like an injury or graduation. There is no denying Pryor is the starter for the next two years (I think it's very unlikely he even considers leaving), and you are just naive if you think Braxton Miller doesn't come in with every opportunity to seize the starting job after a year in the program. -
devil1197No.
Imo, Pryor will stay all four years and next season Miller will RS while developing to take the reigns after Pryor leaves. -
OneBuckeyeIf Braxton struggles at all I could see a 2 QB system for sure.

No doubt Braxton comes in with every opportunity, but I think Graham will have the same opportunities with more experience. Either way, OSU should have a nice stable of QB's the next few years. The more depth, the better chance you end up with a VERY good QB. -

You have a spotless hindsight scouting record. -
centralbucksfanTressel will play the best player. Who knows what will happen two/three years down the road, especially at the QB position. There is NO question its the single most difficult position to grasp going from HS to college. There are MANY a high recruit who haven't panned out at QB coming out of HS. Nothing is ever gauranteed, especially at the QB position. And often times, the recruit who isn't as highly recruited raises up his game. Thats why its always great to have options. I have been hearing about VERY good things with Graham. He will obviously redshirt this year. Next year it will be interesting to see who is where on the depth chart.
