Breakout Player/Newcomer
-
dat dudeSimple premise - breakout player or newcomer of the year for your team.
My pick for OSU would be Corey "Philly" Brown. All reports out of camp point to Brown as being one of the fastest, if not the fastest, Buckeye on the team. I don't see him getting significant time until later in the season, but I think he will work his way into forcing Tressel to get him the ball. Of course, a lot of his success depends upon Pryor's development at the QB position. -
dat dudeHere's a video of him at the state track meet last year. He gets the baton at about 2:47 and is in the white top:

Whoa. I was watching that and was thinking "ok cool, he just showed me a video of him finishing middle of the pack and making up a little ground" but good lord. That was nuts. -
gerb131Not a new guy or Ohio St guy but Julio Jones from Bama. Dude hasn't really done shit the whole time he has been there but I think he is due for a great year.

He redshirted last year due to a hammy suffered in high school track. -

Those are some of the best high school highlights I have ever seen. I can't wait to watch him play this year.Speedofsand;456715 wrote:Andre Debose

bases_loadedSeems like a douche. Cartwheels in the endzone? Really? Have fun with that ego...too bad because he has some incredible highlights.

se-alumJake Stoneburner for OSU.

Hamp89Holy shit, Andre Debose looks incredible.
For me, Dayne Crist will be the newcomber this year. In Kelly's offense he will become a household name. -

Interesting. I noticed he's wearing #3 which seems unusual for a freshman....usually you gotta earn the low # (remember Ray Small?) so hopefully he's showing quite a bit of promise. My pick for OSU would be Corey "Philly" Brown
I'd love to see Jermale Hines continue to make progress from his solid season last year (4th in tackles, that 32 yd pick six against Wisky)
In the end though I gotta think it's either going to be Nate Williams or John Simon who will step up the most this year -

Nope, I believe he said he will wait until his football days are over before going on his mission. ND had another player leave on their mission before the season. 2010 early enrollee Chris Badger left in July.LJ;456887 wrote:I thought te'o was going on some kind or mission or something?

SpeedofsandI saw 3 of Debose's games in '08, and the catch in the first play of the highlights was the last minute game winner in the state championship vs. Miami Northwestern. 2 of his mates, Dyron Dye and Ray Ray Armstrong went to the Canes, with a handful of the Miami Northwestern guys.
