nope, just thought it was being represented as what was going to happen next season.

They've shared 2 in this run of 5, both with Penn State. Not 3.

They count. If Ohio State TIES for the Big Ten Title this year it will tie a RECORD of 6 straight Big Ten Titles won. In the past, it has been accomplished once each by Ohio State and Michigan.

Do you think they will do away with all such Big Ten records when they go to two Divisions and a Title Game? I doubt it.

Obviously OSU has done insanely good in the Big Ten, but I hate when Big Ten fans of ANY school use the "X titles in a row" argument, given they still give split titles (unlike anyone else). If there were any tiebreakers in place, PSU gets 2 of those 5 (and if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle, I know...). Does this change the AMAZING 36-4 mark? Absolutely not, but the "X in a row" is definitely diluted in the Big Ten.
    "(unlike anyone else)" ?????

The Big 12 came into being when 4 Texas schools were added to the Big 8 conference. The Big 8 conference had 28 years they didn't play a round robin schedule.

There has been 70 years when the PAC 10 didn't play a round robin schedule, during those years there were 18 shared titles.

The SEC didn't play a round robin schedule from 1932 through 1992. During those years there were 10 shared titles.

You must be a teenager not to know these facts. ALSO, from 1932-1941 the Big Ten only allowed schools to play 8 football games. From 1942-1965 the Big Ten only allowed schools to play 9 football games. Can you see the problem in those yeas? I don't know of ANY SCHOOL that has played nothing but league games in a season.

The "X titles in a row" is in the history and record books of ALL THE MAJOR CONFERENCES.....even though there has been MANY years that round robin schedules DID NOT exist. The X in a row dilutes EVERY CONFERENCE. OR intelligently there is no such thing as X in a row being diluted by anything.

Penn State has only won 3 Big Ten Tiles and only one wasn't shared. Don't tell JoPa two thirds of his Big Ten Titles don't count.

Does it count? yes. Is it diluted based on how every other conference functions? yes.

They won't eliminate past records, but at least they will only crown 1 champion per year come 2011.
