  So he's complaining about a preseason ranking in a division that has a playoff, which makes rankings obsolete. So he's complaining about something that means less than nothing.

  The season has not even started, and I'm already tired of this new FB coach at YSU. Ever since getting hired, he has been bad mouthing Coach Heacock and spouting off with all this macho BS. And, now Wolford makes the comparison of YSU being "disrespected" in the pre-season MVC Poll with killing or being killed. Respect is something that is EARNED, and Coach Wolford has NEVER coached a game at the college level as a HC. Further, YSU's program has declined significantly since Tressel left. Win games against quality teams and build a quality program(like Tressel did) and the respect will come.
  
  It would not surprise me at all if Wolford has a comparable, or even worse career record that Coach Heacock had at YSU, and if YSU finishes below .500 this season in both the MVC and overall. Coach H did not have the on field success of Tressel, but I'm not even sure if Tressel could have repeated the level of success he had at YSU. Coach H ran a clean program, is well respected and did everything he could to give YSU a winning program. The problem is, he followed a legend in Jim Tressel, and Tressel has proven the last 9 years at OSU that he is one of the best college football HC's of ALL TIME. I remember all the trash Charlie Weiss talked upon getting hired at ND, and anybody who follows college football knows Weiss fared no better than the coach he replaced, Ty Willingham.

  Coach H didn't recruit enough area players. Wolford seems to be doing extremely well with this, recently getting Girard wr Landon Smith to committ over offers from Syracuse and Indiana. Pair that with a number of guys last year he lured away from BCS conference schools, I'd say he is doing what he can very well at this point. There seems to be a definite excitement that Coach H never had. Granted, his win-loss record will tell the tale.

  Folks, can't you see that it's a motivational thing to try and fire up his players and the community? It's about ticket sales and trying to get back the masses that has fled by the thousands since Heacock decimated this once proud program.
  
  Thank God the Heacock era is over. Maybe YSU will make the playoffs more than once every 7 years or so...

  Wolf needs to watch his "public relations" and maybe tone it down a notch or two . His problem is the MVFC may have a good opinion about where the program is now. I projected them as 5th.
  
  Then, I notice we continue to get dumb comments about the program. No...... PLEASE......... no more area " STARS" unless they already have multiple D-I offers from the MAC and ideally, better than that. Too many local stars have been flops or have taken the program down with subpar talent. But the comment about losing attendance is right on the mark. For attendance to go up, Wolf has to win. And he was handed a program that was woefully ruined by the previous coach. No playoffs this year and if they have injuries may struggle just to have a winning season. Then, factor in he just lost two starting LBs days from the opening of camp, no experienced QB and 36 new faces, most young.
  
  So, Wolf, watch your comments and just concentrate on winning.

  Anyone with a brain knows he responded the way he did to get the team and community fired up about Youngstown State football. Despite your love of Coach Heacock, he did not cut it at Youngstown State. Wolford's recruits in 2010 and so far in his 2011 class are far superior than that of Heacock's recruits. Just look at these running backs he brought in, they are tremendous!
  
  If you guys watch any of his youtube videos on the ysusports channel, it is obvious he has toned it down a bit and is smiling in his interviews.. He knows we must win to become respected in this league. He said what he said because he knows everyone in this community realizes 7th in the MVFC is UNACCEPTABLE.

  I have given Wolford 3 recruits at YSU Patrick Angle was the one recruit I e-mailed to Wolford and bing what do you know he recruits him as a QB. I am a former coach and know what talent takes, my degree at Xavier proves I know my stuff when it comes to business.

  I still don't get the people obsessed with Heacock. WTF did he ever do? I love Wolford's enthusiasm and how he is getting his players pumped up. I just hope he can get the wins. Not expecting much this first season but wins must come in season 2 and 3. And he is getting good local players. Players that are getting D1 looks.

Not saying I was the sole reason, but I e-mailed Wolford video on the kid, next day he recruits him. As for your ignorant slam on Xavier, you should graduate college and make something other than a website before you slam my biz degree from Xavier.

  Haha... Angle won't be seeing any action this year anyways. He is going to be redshirted.

The Allen Jones situation was no existent until I e-mailed Wolford about him... The next day Wolford starts to talk about him to the media.. Hmmm maybe I know a thing or two about recruiting.
