I'm interested in the Cincy/Vandy game. Dickie V is talking about Vandy being a sleeperish team this year and I think Cincy could do some damage in the Big East

This is one of the weaker fields in recent memory, but it's also very balanced. A lot of solid teams but no spectacular ones.

I'm with Mulva.... a much weaker field than in the past couple of years...wasn't last year's event pretty loaded?

Its a weak field with some team that have been pretty good the last decade.

Arizona, Wisky, and Maryland. But they are all kind of down recently/this year.

Should provide some great games, but the intrigue leading up to them just wont be the same as in years past. I think Gonzaga takes this. Big tourneys from Bouldin and Gray.

Last year's featured Carolina, ND, Texas, Bama, Oregon, Indiana, St. Joe's and Chaminade.

Gonzaga trails Colorado 40-29 at the half of game 1. Surprising result there so far.

I like whoever wins the Cinci - Vandy game today to win it all.

The Buffs are really taking it to Gonzaga so far. Not what I expected after the way the Zags played against Sparty.

I just got in and am surprised by this one. As others have asserted, the Zags looked great against Sparty. I still anticipate a GU run.
  • wildcats20
Steven Grey is doing whatever he wants for the Zags. After really struggling against MSU, very nice outing thus far.
  • HeathAlum21
As anticipated, it is knotted at 57 now. CU needs to stop the bleeding, or Gonzaga will win by double digits.
  • gorocks99
70-69, GU with about a minute to play.
  • Laley23
What a last 10 minutes here for the Zags. Down at about the 10 minute mark by 11, now up by 3.
  • gorocks99
    'Zags take game 1, 76-72.
  • wildcats20
That was a hell of a basketball game, good win for the Zags. Buffs playing without their head coach and played hard, but couldn't get it done in the end.

Cincy taking it to Vandy so far, up 36-24 at halftime.
  • dokken
Cincy has really improved. I just can't see them finishing off a top 25 team though.
  • HeathAlum21
The first 6 minutes are so of the game squashed Vandy's chances in this one. They were down by approximately 20 with somewhere around 7 turnovers on 1-12 shooting. I am not sure what else needs to be said. Oh, and they are still down only 12 with 5 minutes to go.

I hope Cincy holds on. This would be a decent OOC win for a Big East team.
  • gorocks99
Gonzaga, Cincy, Maryland, and Wisconsin all winners yesterday.

I saw a stat that read something like Big East so far is 51-4

    Crazy

52-4 through last night's games. Only losses have been DePaul to Tennessee, South Florida to South Carolina, Providence to Alabama, and Rutgers to Vermont. Obviously it won't keep up that pace, but it's a heck of a start for the conference. ACC is 44-5, while the Big Ten (behind Iowa, Penn State and Indiana's combined 8 losses) is 30-10.

Great overtime from Nic Wise. And Horne is a pretty ridiculous shot blocker for Arizona. A lot of great weak side help from him.
