As well as Illinois and Northwestern could have it at soldier field. Everyone else though has a stadium worthy of holding the champ game.
No sense ever worrying about home cooking in Indy or Illinois--- no way any of those schools will make it to the CG in the near future.

Agreed. They should play the CG at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. The way the game was meant to be played. ;)

You are confused, the roof doesn't retract, it just gets lifted off by a big crane.

I have visions of the "Ice Bowl" in 1967 when Green Bay and Dallas met in the NFL Championship Game and with 15 seconds left in the game, Bart Starr followed Jerry Kramer into the end zone for an exciting 21-17 victory. The temperature was -20 degrees and the band that was scheduled to play that day was, instead, transported to a local hospital and treated for hypothermia. I don't think this would be an ideal condition to play the Big Ten Title Game in. Of course, this was a once in a lifetime occurrence but what if???

If the Big Ten is lucky enough to have a title game that is such a classic that people are still talking about it 43 years later, they should consider themselves lucky.

The 1967 NFL Championship was played on December 31st too. A bit of a difference.

A sun roof is not a convertible.

You leave either one open when it's raining, and you'll get wet.

Indy - rotate with Soldier Field in Chicago.

You could not ask for a better setup for the league championship game in either case.

If they are only going to rotate between two sites I don't want to see them rotate between and indoor site and an extremely cold weather outdoor site. If they rotate it between 6 different venues then having two inside is fine. I can just hear the complaints now from the losing team in Chicago that had they played the next year in Indy inside that it would have been different because the elements wouldn't have effected them (although both teams are from cold weather locations and both are playing in the same elements). If you're only going to rotate between two locations then it should either be two outdoor venues or two indoor venues.

Don't worry, you won't hear that excuse because OSU won't be losing to an SEC team.

I think a rotation between Chicago, Detroit, Indy, Green Bay, and Cleveland makes the most sense....3 outdoor stadiums, 2 indoor. All fairly centrally located. Detroit and Indy give the indoor option, Green Bay for historical purposes, Chicago for the city, and Cleveland since it has the largest capacity.
