devil1197USC and PSU getting bids? Both haven't played well lately.
Should be Iowa (healthy Stanzi) and Oklahoma State. -
Cleveland BuckI'm not saying anything about who deserves it. Just trying to project who gets in.
-
FanOfCatsWhere's Notre Dame?

slingshot4everAnyone who has USC in their projections is just dumb.
-
slingshot4everYou will have the 6 conference champs
TCU
BSU (only if they finish undefeated)
2nd SEC team
The only spot even up for debate right now is the last spot. If Pitt beats Cincy and takes the Big East, Cincy will get that last spot with an 11-1 record and will still be ranked in the top 10 most likely. Otherwise, I think this bid goes to Iowa or Oklahoma State. -

That is not how it works. The Bowls can select who ever the want as long as the qualify. There is no way Cincinnati gets a bid if the lose because they don't travel as well as Penn St or Iowa. Records and rankings don't matter just who can give the bowls the most money in return. I doubt BSU makes it as well because OK State and Penn St or Iowa travel better than BSU. I would rather see BSU in over a second big 10 team but I doubt that happens.slingshot4ever wrote: You will have the 6 conference champs

SykotykDoomsday senario is if:
Nebraska beats Texas, Oregon State beats Oregon, Clemson beats Georgia Tech, Florida State beats Florida, Pittsburgh beats Cincinnati, and Alabama then beats a one-loss Florida.
An anarchist can dream, can't he?

speedrush1189No way do PSU and USC make it. Replace PSU with Iowa and USC with either Okie State or maybe Boise.
-
Cleveland BuckIf the Big XII puts enough pressure on the Fiesta Bowl, they might take Oklahoma State over USC. They might also take Penn State over USC because they know they are getting stuck with TCU or Cincinnati and might want a proven draw in there. USC vs. TCU would get good TV ratings, but USC can't sell out the Coliseum, so I don't know how well they would travel to see a 3 loss USC team play a MWC team. They only way Boise gets a bid is if TCU loses or if Congress threatens action against the BCS for excluding them.
-
darbypitcher22Again, as appealing as some of these matchups seem, I'll wait until at least conference championship weekend before posting what I think.
-
Falcons53I would love to see a Penn State vs Ga Tech game. That defense with healthy LBs against that offense would be fun. No way does a bowl take Iowa over Penn State. Anyone who has watched these two teams knows the Iowa win was a fluke. Still counts, but Penn State was missing so much on defense and everything that could go wrong in the last 10 min of that game did.

Cleveland BuckUSC actually fell in the BCS this week. I expected the voters to start shooting them back up the polls with losses in front of them. If USC doesn't finish in the top 14, you can switch USC and Oklahoma State in my picks.
-
Turf WardenCan't see the Big East getting two bids.
-
Cleveland BuckThey won't.
-
Cleveland BuckThey wouldn't get one if one of the bowls didn't have to take their champion.
-
3reppomIf Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma they are in. Iowa is most likely in a BCS game as well. Boise State should be left on the outside looking in.
-
Cleveland BuckI forgot Oklahoma State still plays Oklahoma. If Oklahoma wins, that would open a huge door for Boise State. If USC doesn't climb into the top 14 and Oklahoma State loses, you would be looking at a choice between Boise State, a second ACC team, and a second Big East team for the last spot, and there really isn't much difference between any of those as far as TV ratings and ticket sales.

That's how I have it playing out also.3reppom wrote: If Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma they are in. Iowa is most likely in a BCS game as well. Boise State should be left on the outside looking in. -

I don't see Cincy making it unless they are unbeaten or win the Big East. It's all about ratings and who travels well. Cincy doesn't bring fans or ratings. They only get in if they get an auto bid.slingshot4ever wrote: You will have the 6 conference champs

Skyhook79USC is going to lose their last 2 games so I wouldn't worry about them being in a BCS Bowl Game.
-
bulldog8Here's what the analysts on ESPN think: http://espn.go.com/college-football/bowls/projections I think they are both right on with the general outline. It's tough to call who will win the SEC championship but obviously the winner will be in the national championship and the loser likely in the Sugar Bowl. I feel that Iowa has a better shot at getting a birth to the Fiesta Bowl than Penn State because they beat them head-to-head. I just don't foresee Boise or TCU being left out of BCS games if they finish their seasons undefeated. It won't happen. Obviously, things can shake up quite a bit still with the SEC championship, the battle for the PAC 10, the ACC championship and the Big East Champsionship.

No way does USC get in. I doubt if there ever was a 3 loss team in as a wild card.Cleveland Buck wrote: I'm not saying anything about who deserves it. Just trying to project who gets in.
In addition, you aren't eligible if you're ranked 15th or lower...unless you are an automatic qualifier...i.e....if Nebraska beats Texas.
