  • dokken
do you drink before entering an intercollegiate football game?
  • derek bomar
depends on the kick time and the opponent

well, before the OSU vs Illinois game where I slipped and fell and got a concussion, it was probably around 15 beers

Better question is...how much alcohol do you smuggle into an intercollegiate football game? Record to date...a 12 pack placed strategically around my body.

Zero. I get to watch one of the best football teams in the country dominate its elite competition.

If I'm watching the SEC or any other conference, I usually down a fifth, and pass out.

When I was in college, I would drink quite a bit before we went to the Doyt because we were students.

When I get tickets to Michigan games, I don't drink before hand because I paid $50-60/seat and want to watch/remember the game and not be in a drunken daze the entire time.

It's ok with me to get drunk before your college game because tickets are usually free, but why get so smashed that you can't handle yourself?

I never understood why grown adults felt the need to get publicly drunk at a college football game.

Usually I have like 6 or 7 beers throughout the course of tailgating. With all the food there is to eat and all the cornhole and socializing I just usually don't drink more than that. The Illinois game was a diff story though. It was pouring down rain and all we did was sit under canopies and drink all morning. Everyone was wasted, not many people in our group made it the whole game, it was crazy.

None, now that I go with my wife and kids and I have to drive home. Once you have kids and have to explain why "that person" is acting like an idiot it changes your perspective. I also pay too much for 4 sets of tOSU season tickets to waste the time being wasted.

Before wife and kids it was a different story.

Whenever we roadtripped-- a lot! And my freshmen year when we played Stanford at home I don't remember the first few drives at all (at least one of which was a touchdown)

None, since I am on the field.

Sonofanump, as a player, coach or as an official? I've seen some plays and calls that would make me think there was some drinking going on by coaches and officials:)

If you are watching one of those SEC games that has a score similar to a soccer game, do you really need the fifth to pass out?

I usually don't have any if the game is good.

None, I'm up in the pressbox.

If you count the free McFlurries as alcohol, then I have about 6 drinks a game lol.
