TMZ: NCAA probing Kentucky Players over Agents
-
Little DannyNo shock here. Hope hiring Cal was worth it. I am hearing they are looking at four specific players- two who just were drafted into the NBA and two current players.

Azubuike24Another story that breaks on the Friday before a holiday weekend?
Isn't that where the dump the non-stories?
Interesting. Might as well lock Calipari up and close down the University. -
PariahYou said it LDanny. This just comes with Cal - and World Wide Wes. I love the talent UK is attracting. How it is getting there, and the consequences that might bring, probably isn't something I would love.
I visited Lexington last year. Every relative I spoke too was excited about UK and Cal, but every one was also wondering when the program will be put on probation. -

centralbucksfanI'll wait and see if this is legit and reported from someplace that is credible. Not sure about TMZ?? But again, if any truth at all..is it really surprising? UK got what they wanted. And with that, you get this. So stop whinning about it. Cal is like Pete Carrol IMO. He runs a loosy goosey program and gives his players too much freedom. When you do this, your trusting teens to much. You knew what was coming when this hire happened.

Little DannyTMZ has broken some sports stories as of late. They were all over the Tiger Woods deal before it caught wind elsewhere. They recently broke another story that ended up being legit, I can't remember which one.
-
Laley23In all honesty, I would go with TMZ before any other source. They have people on the inside all over the place. Probably the most accurate source and also the quickest to break stuff. They are usually dead on with celebrity gossip, and broke the Tiger Woods stuff as well.

thedynasty1998I won't deny that Calipari runs a loose program, however, this isn't the first time he's recruited the one and done types, so I'm sure he knows how he can protect himself. There's no doubt that the NCAA will look into everything that Calipari does, however Calipari is smart enough to know what he can and can't do (get away with). And it's hard to compare him to Pete Carroll, because you can't compare a football coach who has 80 players to a basketball coach who has 13 and it's a lot easier to keep tabs on.

Exactly my point. If Cal can't keep an eye on 13 players...well....
As for my comparison..its all relative no matter what numbers your dealing with.
When you open your program up, as Cal and Carrol do...your asking for trouble. Jim O'Brien did the same at OSU when dealing with the international players ...agents hung around, etc, etc...and it caught up with him as well. Which was really nausiating as we weren't even dealing with big time players! lol IMO, in this day and age...you have to run a very tight ship ...especially when your dealing with blue chip recruits. If you don't...well..I think its easy to figure out what may happen.
Be interesting to see if there is anything legit with this situation. We already know one is probably Wall. Who was already involved with an agent prior to coming to UK....thus his early season suspension. -
GOONx19Do the current players in question include incoming freshman? I can't picture any of the other five being involved with agents at this point.

Okay, 85 instead of 80. Coaches don't care about walk ons.2quik4u;410514 wrote:105 players

Wasn't Derek Rose a one-and-doner?
