rmolin73Dude clearly doesn't have the grades.
-
Trueblue23Yea it's been known for a while that he wouldn't be coming to Ann Arbor.
-
sportswizuhrdUpdate on the CFT link, he is qualified as far as grades go and Florida State is a possibility.
-
bigkahunaAm I dumb for not knowing who this is?
-
Hb31187Yeah this is bullshit. We need CB's more than any other position period and now this 5 star is not comin to AA...Nice
-
WebFireHe has a letter of intent and clears the NCAA, but Michigan won't let him in. What do you do? UM boasts about higher standards, so shit like this is bound to happen.
-
SpeedofsandSpeaking on WTKA radio Monday morning, Sam Webb -- by way of MVictors -- reports that Dorsey will not be on campus this fall, apparently robbing head coach Rich Rodriguez of a supremely talented athlete at a position of dire need.
not the first time Dorsey has been acused of robbing someone -
SpeedofsandI hear he had the grades, it was the off field issues that kept him away from UF and Mich.
Looks like he will be at Louisville with Charlie Strong/Vance Bedford watching over his shoulder.

According to ESPN's rankings, Dorsey was the highest-rated 2010 recruit not just in Michigan's class, but in the entire Big Ten. -
OneBuckeyeI don't understand how you can not qualify for Florida and Michigan but qualify at Louisville. If he didn't qualify for academics I would understand, but for off the field issues I don't get how one will allow it and another wouldn't.
-
3reppomhe passed the NCAA clearing house so he is qualified in general, but each school has the right to refuse entry to anyone with grades that they deem marginal. Its that simple
-
georgemc80Im proud UM did this. His football skills do not automatically qualify him for a top education. I also see this as UM not wanting to deal with RR projects for three years after RR has been fired.
-
Little DannyFrom my understanding, his grades were good enough for Michigan. THe admissions office was concerned about a couple incidents away from the classroom and off the field he had as a juvenile. UL was willing to take the risk on him, Michigan was not.

mrtinkertrainThis is what happened with Dorsey.
This Feb the admissions department gave the clearence for Rich Rod to accept Demarr's copummittment pending his final semesters grades which is standard proceedure. Then about two weeks before they even got Demarr's grades with no warning admissions changed their mind's and pulled the rug out from Demarr.
I've just about had it with buckeye fan's trashing this kid because of mistake's he made as a 15-16 year old kid. He hasnt been in any trouble outside of some speeding tickets in the three years since then and has gone to long lengths to try to better himself. Heck his main reason for wanting to come to Michigan was to get away once and for all from the bad influences that surround him in Florida.
Considering one of your own recruit's has been shot twice in six month's you really should stfu. -
norwalkI get tired of fans throwing stones at one another. I'll admit with my buddies who love Meechigan we get into different friendly banter but it's among friends. To sit here and bash one program over another gets old.
-
FatHobbitI didn't really see that much bashing.

So was he denied because of his last semester's grades? I find it hard to believe he was fine to be admitted until his last semester grades were received.
I'd like to know the truth, because at this point I think it was a little shitty the way UM handled this. -
SpeedofsandThe UM admissions office trashed this kid if they changed their mind 2 weeks before his grades were done.
Meyer pulled his offer after he verbaled then went to visit Kiffy. Since then, and the Mich. episode, I'd bet DD has matured. Louisville is the best place for him. Bedford and Strong should be able to help him become a man. -
mrtinkertrainThe decision to not accept Demarr was made BEFORE his final semester grades were received. Demarr kept up his end of the deal academically and on the behavior side of the deal. The plain ugly truth is that the university of michigan admissions department screwed this young man to spite Rich Rod. Michigan is a mess with factions inside the athletic, complience and admissions departments between "Old" and "New" Michigan.
Make no mistake about it Rich Rod must win and win now and if he can do that you are going to see a mass house cleaning at Michigan of the people who have made this transition MUCH harder than it had to be. -

This is how I understand it as well. Not sure about the spite part.mrtinkertrain;398590 wrote:The decision to not accept Demarr was made BEFORE his final semester grades were received. I am a buckeye and I agree. I think the only reason JT has not pulled our guy's scholarship is because he still has not qualified and this allows JT to look like a good guy. -

SpeedofsandFork Union must have 15,000 students. I hear that name as much as any D1 school.
