gibby08Not completely turrible
-
0311sdpMichigan #70, Penn State #32 you've got to be kidding. Michigan won't be great but they are not worse than half the MAC schools and Penn State is at worse a top 15 team.
-
goosebumpsCincy at #41???
Even the biggest hater has to realize thats ridiculous. -
goosebumpsWell at least UC is 2 spots ahead of Middle tennessee State
-
Little DannyI think the worst tragedies are Miami at #4, Florida State at #7 (they were 7-6 last year for crying out loud and have a new coach) and of course, for putting Bearcats at #41. UC has had three straight Top 20 finishes and if you were a betting man you should put money down now that they will do it for a fourth year.
-
karen lotzI think Miami at #4 is just about right. You do realize they play OSU this year right?
And I agree about UC being low, I'd at least switch them and Notre Dame at 29... -
Little DannyI realize they play at OSU. That has nothing to do with putting them at #4. This is not a strength of schedule argument. Hell, Miami might only be the 4th best team in the ACC, let alone the whole country (Va Tech, Georgia Tech and North Carolina might be better). Miami lost four games last year, including being embarrassed by Wisconsin in their bowl.
-
jpake1I agree with some of the crazy parts, but others I don't. UC isn't horrible IMO. Miami at 4 is though.
-
karen lotzMy sarcasm font didn't come through?? I was just basing the statement off of the bucknutz on this site defending Miami at #4 because they are an opponent of OSU.
-
dat dude
You seem reallllly concerned about the OSU fan's perspective of Miami. Also, what "bucknutz" on this site defended Miami at #4?karen lotz wrote: My sarcasm font didn't come through?? Who has defended Miami as the #4 ranked team in the country?karen lotz wrote: My sarcasm font didn't come through?? I was just basing the statement off of the bucknutz on this site defending Miami at #4 because they are an opponent of OSU. -
karen lotzIt will come, give it time. Do you guys not pick up on the double standards on this site? It was a joke, calm yourselves down.

Embarrassed?! What was Cincy in their bowl then?Little Danny wrote: I realize they play at OSU. That has nothing to do with putting them at #4. This is not a strength of schedule argument. I picked up on it. Not much talk about Miami being overrated and not any good since 2001, right now.karen lotz wrote: It will come, give it time. Do you guys not pick up on the double standards on this site? It was a joke, calm yourselves down. -
newarkcatholicfanNotre Dame once again given way too much credit.
-
Trueblue23OSU is gonna smoke Miami lol

Miami at #4 (which they won't sniff in any real polls), would be one of the most overrated teams of all time. They should be borderline top 20.TheMightyGators wrote:

And they haven't been any good since 2001.
The big 3 Florida teams are all pretty badly overrated in that poll. Florida is the only one close. -
sjmvsfscs08I'll get this out of the way before I go to bed...
sleeper wrote: LOL at Notre Dame being #21. They will finish, at best, 7-6 and lose the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl against a hapless 6-6 WAC team, should they accept it. And you can take that to the bank.
Now excuse me while I count my cash stacks and have sex with the best looking women on earth.
For the record, I wouldn't start Notre Dame any higher than #35. #42 sounds about right for a preseason poll. -

IMO Florida is the only school that should be in the top 10.Mulva wrote:

Miami will be exposed and FSU will have some struggles unless i've forgotten something and they've somehow developed an offense in the last 3 months. -
3reppomMiami will be a good team again this year. The majority of kids from the great 2008 class already have one, if not two full years of playing experience. Miami went 9-4 last year and return something like 80% of their two deep. They will be a good team again, are they a legitimate national title contender? Not really, they would need to get a lot of breaks for that to happen. But they are a top 15 team on paper with ease. I would be shocked to see them fall short of their win total from 2009.

Florida State's problem is not offense. It's defense, and it has been for the last 5 years. They won NC's with their DOMINANT defense, and they havent even had a MAC level defense, let alone a dominant one, for the better part of this decade.j_crazy wrote:

(I'm not arguing with your post btw, I'm agree with it! ) -

I was going by the post I quoted. His words, not mine. I know they actually started going downhill around 2004. -
darbypitcher22I thinnk Miami will be improved this year. Tress should really watch that Champs Sports Bowl and take the clinic Wisconsin put on about TE play and use it in that game...
I'll admit, there's some huge headscratchers on this list...
