Odds to win 2011 BCS title

If OSU and Boise State are undefeated, and there's a 1 loss SEC team sitting at 3, its not going to happen dude. The only way it happens is if the SEC team gets their one loss in the conference championship game. If Alabama loses in week 8 or something, then runs the rest of their schedule AND wins their conference championship game, Boise has little to no chance. I'm sorry to say that, because I'm HOPING for the same thing you are. But as the saying goes, the past often predicts the future and when you add in the fact of how much the BCS loves their $$$, it'll be the two major conference teams.krambman wrote:
I really think you're wrong on this. If Boise State is one of only two undefeated teams at the end of the year, they will play for the National Title. There is no way they could not be voted in if they are undefeated with wins at Virginia Tech and against Oregon State. There's just no way that they could vote in a one-loss OSU or Texas team over an undefeated Boise at that point. And if they voted Boise in they would throw a parade for them to show how great and fair the BCS is.Red_Skin_Pride wrote:
Won't matter at the end of the season, if Boise and TCU are still undefeated by the last few weeks of the season, they bigwigs will get nervous and the human voting element will take care of them. One of them may crack the 2 spot at some point during the season if either Alabama or OSU loses, but you can bet by the end of the season, regardless of record, Boise and TCU will NOT be in the NC game. If it takes putting in a 1 loss team in front of an undefeated Boise team again, it will happen. Nothing in recent history suggests any different.0311sdp wrote: A WAC team and a MWC in the top 4, interesting.
And if Boise makes it the the National Title Game, as the son of parents who now live in Idaho, I'll be doing all I can to attend that game. -
cats gone wildDont feel like starting a new topic for it, but since Boise is being talked about alot in this topic......Ole Miss and Boise open 2011 against each other.

I agree, and that's probably how it should be. Right now we don't have a playoff system, so I think the schedule you played and teams you beat should carry the most weight on getting into an NC game.Red_Skin_Pride wrote:

until they get out of the WAC, there isn't much they can do. Don't punish other teams, because they don't get the luxury of playing WAC teams.Red_Skin_Pride wrote: ^True, but tell how Boise could play a much better schedule than they do this year? -
