LMAO.......troll? Get a clue wise ass! I suggest you travel outside of Ohio and see what other CFB fans think.Pick6 wrote:

I have...UofM, Georgia, PSU, Texas, Florida...have friends at all those universities and have spent time there, even THE SEC folks have said that pretty much nothing beats Script Ohio.rock_knutne wrote:

You MIGHT be able to call him a troll if this were an Ohio State thread, or a thread just about Script Ohio and he were coming on here talking smack. It's not, it's about college traditions and he's entitled to his opinion about then. You and everyone else may think that he's wrong but that's why it's called an opinion. It's not like we're discussing a quantifiable fact.rock_knutne wrote:

SpeedofsandScript Ohio
Florida should not even be on the list. We tailgate until the last minute, getting to our seats just in time for the intro video. Not much tradition, the announcer who always used to say "Heeeeeeeere come the Gators !" passed away a few years ago, and they have changed some things. -

I will say that Script Ohio gives me goosebumps.
Does it make me a traitor of I WANT to put my arms up and do OH-IO during Hang on Sloopy? I see it as showing love to the state of Ohio and NOT Ohio State. -
SonofanumpThe bagpipes at Wooster is pretty cool to see.

0311sdpTraditions are what makes college football great. To pick one over another is hard to do, they are all part of what makes college football what it is and to me what makes it better than pro football. You can argue all day about it and never agree. Ralphie running on the fiels at Colorada, the Sooner Schooner, Michigan jumping and touching the banner while Hail to the Victors plays, Notre Dames many traditions, all are great. Just be a college fan and enjoy them all.

j_crazyMike the Tiger isn't as cool as people say. It's not horrible though.
I've always wanted to experience Pig Sooie. -
Little DannyI think it's pretty cool when Bevo comes running out or the Buffalo at Colorado. Not to mention I think Florida State's deal is awesome with the guy on horseback chucking a flammed spear.

darbypitcher22That Virginia Tech vido just got me pumped... Blacksburg in general is intimidating... Night Games in Blacksburg take it to a WHOLE new level

Absolutely nothing compares to this, I've been in tears during the introductions before. Tell me another tradition that one can have no connection to that can cause a man to shed a tear. -

If you are gonna say that the 12th man is not a pre game tradition, the same should be said about Script Ohio. It is not always performed before the game, sometimes at halftime, sometimes after the game. Does that mean it doesn't deserve to be on the list too?krambman wrote:
The 12th Man is really an in-game tradition, not a pregame tradition. However, I did feel that there were two HUGE omissions on that list that make it lose any credibility and one has to do with the 12th Man. Midnight Yell Practice should have been somewhere on that last, and Ole Miss's walk through the Grove should have been on that list (maybe top five). When they leave off things like that and include stuff like the WSU flag at Gameday, you lose credibility.rock_knutne wrote: Why Script Ohio.......because you Bucknuts say so? I also have a hard time seeing a tradition that's only 24 years old being the greatest in college football, and as others have said, it's a private tradition for the players. I'm biased, but I don't think many objective observers would argue that Script Ohio is the best. -
purple_reinHoward's Rock is the coolest by far.
Most history is Script Ohio. -

Here you go Bigkahuna!bigkahuna wrote: Yes, Michigan was the 1st to do Script Ohio, but it looked like shit
Kind of small picture.
Also, I just thought the whole dog thing with Texas A & M was really cool. I didn't quite understand it, so could someone with more military intelligence explain it to?

Excellent post, krambman. -
Pick6Rocks opinion is if its not anything Notre Dame dick sucking, its not right.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that it's always done pregame at home. It may also occasionally be done at half time or in their post-game performance, but I'm pretty sure it's still performed in their pregame show as well. I've been to a lot of Buckeye games and it's always been performed pregame and I've never heard of it not being done then.karen lotz wrote:

And the 12th Man itself is an in-game thing. The yell practice is a pregame ritual which is why it, not the 12th man itself, would be on the list. -

I think all fans of anything would agree that Script Ohio is a great tradition that gets the crowd absolutely pumped, but unique? It's a game of follow the leader.Writerbuckeye wrote: Script Ohio.
It's not close.
There's not a more unique tradition, anywhere, in college football that gets a stadium as revved up as much as this.
If you've never experienced it live, in Ohio stadium, you can't understand it. No video can convey the energy that builds to an explosive finale when the i is dotted.
Unique probably isn't the best way to describe it. -

This is a great story and I agree simply one of the best traditions in all of football.rock_knutne wrote: Why Script Ohio.......because you Bucknuts say so? Ya know he never mentioned Notre Dame. He did mention Texas A&M. So if bringing up Texas A&M is Notre Dame fellacio, then you'd have a point. Better luck next time!Pick6 wrote: Rocks opinion is if its not anything Notre Dame dick sucking, its not right. -

I was thinking this as well. I wonder how many Ohio High Schools do their own version of Script. I know my High School (St. Marys Memorial) does Script Riders during the final home game and usually in the playoffs. One of the senior band members gets to dot the i.ts1227 wrote:

Red_Skin_Pridebigkahuna, did you check out the A&M stuff i posted for you on page 2?
-
bigkahunaYea I did actually
I spent about 30mins or so reading the stuff, Thank You!
I think it's pretty sweet how they have a cemetery for all of the Revielles outside the stadium with a scoreboard at their heads.
Very cool tradition.
Or the fact that since Revielle is the top ranking member of the cadet corps, she can take your bed and you have to sleep on the floor. Also, whoever is her escort can take her to class, and if she barks, class is automatically dismissed. -
UncleYoderMarysville High School does Script OHIO 3 times each season. Having watched them perform it for the past 12 years, it never gets old or stale. Best time is when they do it at an away game and the home crowd goes apeshit, not the usual reaction to a visiting band. The band directors are OSU grads and receive special permission to perform.
And ts1227, it's not just follow the leader, very easy to cause a 6 car pileup at the intersections if you're not on top of it. It takes hours of practice to make it look easy. You want easy, watch Dublin do their block dublin routine, lame just doesn't describe it.
Best of all, it only costs 6 bucks to watch. Can't afford the Horseshoe prices, too old to fit into my old scout uniform.
