Buckeyes, Florida to have home-home series

  • Writerbuckeye
The first of the home and home will be played Nov. 16 in Florida this coming season, according to reports from Florida and Ohio.

Florida will then visit Columbus the following season.

Should be a very good series, given each team's returning players.

Personally, Id expect Ohio State to win this one and roll next year (if players stick around, somewhat).

"The Florida game this year will be part of a yet-to-be-announced "exempt" tournament in which Ohio State will play three home games around the trip south but have the four games count as only one of the 29 the Buckeyes are permitted during the regular season."

So will the Florida game even count?

Yes. Pre-season tournaments only count as 1 game on the schedule, not matter how many games you play in said tournament. It is designed that way because not everyone is guaranteed the same amount of games, so the NCAA makes the tourney count as 1 for everyone.

The word exempt is used, because you can only play in these tournaments in 3 out of 5 years, or something like that.

    Understood.

Absolutely no way OSU wil roll in this game next year. I would be willing to bet right now Florida will be favored in this game.

A Sweet 16 team that lost 1 player and brings in the top class in the nation. I will bet you $50 OSU will be favored. You game?

You quoted me and STILL got what I said wrong, lol.

I think it will be close next year, with the Bucks winning and the will roll NEXT YEAR if the players stick around at all.

Ohio State will be favored, but it will be close this year and the following year.

How did that team do when that "1" player was injured this year?

Did that team have Jared Sullinger, Deshaun Thomas, Jordan Sibert, etc.?

    Seriously. $50, you in?

The whole "how did they do without Turner" comment is BS.

Of course a team is going to suffer when you lose a star, your PG, in the MIDDLE OF THE SEASON.

Give a team a whole off-season to prepare, etc., it is a whole different story.

I mean, even UK, with all their NBA talent, would have struggled mightily if John Wall went down for a few games in the middle of the year, because they wouldn't have necessarily prepared extensively without him.

Don't see it being a blowout but I can't see Florida keeping up with the team from the real basketball conference. SEC may rule in football but it's a garbage basketball conference.

Except for the whole UK and Tenn thing ya know....

    Lol Florida.

Xavier went to UF and was never even challenged. What OSU will do to them with the people coming in will be hilarious. I'm all for seeing the SEC burn, OSU or not.

    Atlantic 10 >> Florida

    Xavier and Richmond. How pathetic.
