Todd McShay has Cameron Heyward as fourth best player in 2011 draft

  • Leonardo
Do you think this will have any impact on his 2010 season?
  • devil1197
He'll be in beast mode 2.0 this season.

I'd like to see analysis of Todd Mcshay's predictions for this draft. Where did he have Everson Griffin ?
  • NNN
    Looks like he'll go undrafted.

Look at what McShay's brilliant analysis did for Andre Woodson and Jevan Snead.

Kiper and McShay definately whiffed on this year's draft. I will give then some slack due to how deep this year's draft was, but still. This is all they do. They were way off after the top 5 or 6 were taken.

Heyward is one of my friends, and there is no doubt he'll be back for his senior season, and you can take that to the bank.

Serving someone their food doesn't make you a friend.

I agree 100% that Heyward will be back for his senior season....lol!!

    He is a great player...but I don't know about Top 5.

Top 10 for sure though...he is a stud

Who does McShay have over him?

    Ingram? Julio Jones?
  • ts1227
McShay had him listed 8th on a graphic I saw on College Football Live today. Apparently a lot has changed between 364 days before the next draft and 363 days before the next draft.

I'm not an insider so I can't read the article--but Luck is his #1. AJ Green I think is #3. Jones and Ingram are behind Heyward, apparently--that is if Heyward is 4. Anyone an insider?

I don't know about Luck, but I know Ingram won't go ahead of Heyward. And I think Green is better than Jones too.

    julio jones= mike williams

I heard McShay was a major reason why Jevean Snead went pro. Oops

If so, what a jackass for listening to a guy on ESPN and thinking he's the expert. There is a reason he works for ESPN and not for an NFL team. And a reason why most of his information is just inside info straight from the scouts. Snead's probably one of those guys that a dude like McShay or Kiper will throw up on their board because they heard a TINY positive about him from a scout. With the hopes of getting lucky on one of them and thinking it makes them look smart.

As the hipsters say, "this." ESPN has been a joke for as long as I can remember. It's really insulting to people's intelligence to try and make the claim that they are "experts." It's really not that hard to look at where teams lacked during the season and see what talent is available in the draft. From there, you can get a general idea of the direction teams are thinking. Add in a few insider calls from inside the franchise and you've got yourself a solid guess. But, to call yourself an expert, when the majority of fans get the first few picks right anyway, is a joke. It just takes one team to change their mind and the domino effect eventually screws 100% of the draft projections up beyond belief.

The best part was Jon Gruden saying there would be 4-5 quarterbacks taken in the first round. I thought it'd be two, maybe three. Now of course I was wrong with who was picked, but I don't call myself an expert. I'm someone who's wise enough to know they don't know anything. :) It's extremely audacious to try and predict the shit Kiper and McShay do so often. Who the hell knows what kind of season Heyword will have? None of us. It's a solid guess to say he'll be a stud, but he could get busted letting sleeper give him handjobs during study halls and get suspended for the season. No one knows, and it's ridiculous to try and predict this stuff a year in advance.

It's just like the Bracketology bullshit. I've done better than the "experts" every time I've ever done an ESPN bracket--and I don't claim to be an expert of the tournament, there is no such thing.

Luck? Do you mean Locker? Both of them had Jake Locker #1 last I saw.

    No, Luck from Stanford.

He does have Andrew Luck as the number 1 offensive player in next year's draft, Locker is #2.

Wrong. McShay has Luck as his #1 and Locker #2.

    Kiper has Locker as #1.
