Does Evan Turner winning post season awards show this about OSU...

  Does it show how bad or inconsistent his other teammates were. I mean he won basically every major college basketball award you can win, and lose in the Sweet 16? Thoughts?

  Yes and no. It obviously speaks of his personal abilities and accomplishments, but I think that most people also realized that he didn't have the supporting cast of John Wall and had to do just about everything for his team.

  I am not sure this thread makes a bit of sense. I mean Micheal Jordan, one of the greatest, if not the greatest couldn't win the champhionship every year. Basketball is not a perfect science. As evident by this years NCAA, the best team dosen't always win in a one and done situation. Anything and everything can happen. This was one of the strangest NCAA I have seen in my lifetime.
  My goodness..OSU won 29 games, won the Big Ten regular season, and tournament. Turner, although he carried OSU...didn't do it by himself. Not many if any expected the season OSU had prior to this season. Thats a testament to the entire team....not just Turner.
  The only thing Turner winning all these awards shows.....is that Turner was the best player in college basketball this year.

  Michael Jordan couldn't win squat until he had a good supporting cast though.

  MJ didn't do a Damn thing without a coach and cast, so CBF that doesn't make a bit of sense.

  Well, yeah, but that's not really saying anything that shouldn't be common knowledge. Turner was the primary ball-handler and ran the offense and tended to wind up with good stats. Maybe some of them were games where he stunk for a good part of the game, but then took it over, but he made his stamp on about every game. You can't have many non-great nights if you're going to average (roughly) 20-10-6. For the others:
  
  1. Diebler's a pure shooter. Guys like that have their great nights and they have nights where nothing really worked out.
  
  2. Buford's like Diebler, but better inside the arc and not as consistent gunning outside it. He'd have games where he looked like a stud and games where you wondered what happened to him.
  
  3. Lighty's the defensive stopper. His offense is more of a "come and go" thing. He shuts down his guy, he did his job. Adding double-digits offensively is an awesome bonus.
  
  4. Big Dallas brings the pain some nights and gives the team points, rebounds and blocks, while utterly dominating the paint. And other nights, he'll have 2 points, 1 board and nothing else.
  
  To the credit of the cast, they did step up a lot when Turner wasn't on his game. They struggled while he was hurt, but it seemed like after he got back, if he got in foul trouble, people would step up every single time and keep the team from slumping off.

  No. Had they gotten blown out in the Sweet Sixteen, or had the team not made the tournament, then yes, it would have showed that. This was a team that came into the season unranked, finished the regular season in the top five, and was a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament. They also lost only one round earlier than they were supposed to and by only 3 points. It's not like the team underachieved. If anything the team overachieved this year. Out of nearly 300 D-1A schools, Ohio State was one of the final 16 teams left in the country playing for the championship. Perhaps his teammates were inconsistent, but I don't think that having one player who won every individual award on a team that lost is the Sweet Sixteen is any indicator of that.
