Wow, can anything go right for Rich Rod? This hire is looking terrible right about now.
On a side note, every time I hear the word NCAA probe I picture this:
-
FatHobbitI picture this.
-
WebFireWell that is just fantastic!
-
OldDanTuckerIf this ends up being true I will no longer be a RR supporter. This is getting ridiculous
-
killer_ewokUh oh.
-
ohiotiger33It really is crazy. The man seems like a slime. I never really had anything against him, as he did good things as the OC at Clemson. But this is out of control.
-
TBradyfanIf Bill Martin hasn't looked like an idiot enough, this would be the nail in the coffin. At what point is the negative attention on the program going to be too much for the administration?
-
jhay78Aww, you know that's just another Detroit Free Press/ deranged Buckeye fan conspiracy . . .
Seriously, myself and plenty of others (on the old site) were practically shouting from the rooftops that this guy was nothing but trouble before the ink was even dry on his UofM contract. Here we are two years later and it's been nothing but a train wreck in the rearview mirror.
As for Bill Martin, I think he timed his retirement so he wouldn't have to be the one that fired RichRod (only 2-3 years after hiring him), thus making himself look even worse. -
Big GainThe NCAA going to WVU looking for a pattern of rules violations. I would think the WVU athletic department would be MORE than happy to tell the NCAA what ever they would like to hear. The noose is tightening.
-
BaseballYou know this guy just can't find any luck, its gotta turn for him soon, although i must say where there is smoke there usually is a fire and they must have some doubts up north by now
-
CinciX12This is getting excessive now.
-
darbypitcher22ok...
so assuming this is true, and scUM has another down year, who does Michigan go to?
How much money will it cost them to get Les Miles this time? -
WebFire
Why? They are more at risk than RRod if they start looking at his time at WVU.Big Gain wrote: The NCAA going to WVU looking for a pattern of rules violations. centralbucksfanIf UM were smart, they would just wash their hands of RichRod and move on. Its just making them look worse everytime something like this comes up. UM has too much tradition and respect to be dealing with a dolt like this. Even if he wins...it will be tainted IMO.

If you all dont think EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM IN AMERICA isnt doing the same things when it comes to practice times you are nuts. Rich Rod got caught. He pissed off a couple seniors when he came in and played freshmen over them and they turned him in. It is as simple as that.CinciX12 wrote: This is getting excessive now.
I have personally witnessed OSU violate practice times the same way when they open their spring practice up for high school coaches to watch during the coaches clinic. They went over the time by a half hour. What did the coaches do when they realized they were over the time? They told the captains to take over and they walked out. The players kept practicing. This is how it goes at EVERY major program. Why do you think Tressell even came out and made supportive comments of Rich Rod when the whole thing first hit? He knows he does it too. They all do. -
vball10seteven though he burnt a bridge, I gotta' think they'd look at Jim Harbaugh...

I know they all do it but RR just seems to be pretty shitty at covering it up. The program can only take so much negative press and people are starting to run out of excuses for him. I hope he turns UM into a top program once again and hope he stays for the rest of his career (if we are winning) but for the first time in 3 years I am doubting him.ksig489 wrote:OldDanTucker wrote: If this ends up being true I will no longer be a RR supporter. No one has been fired yet. Also lets just wait and see what Harbaugh does this year without Gerhart before we claim him as the saviorWebFire wrote:

NO, NO, NO...you've never heard of a reduction or elimination of charges if you co-operate completely and give investigators what they are looking for???WebFire wrote:

That kid is going to be very good. -

IMO Miles would be an easier transition for the type of players currently on the Michigan team. Miles has ran the spread in the past. He's still a good coach, he didn't grow stupid from his national championship year.OldDanTucker wrote:

The NCAA doesn't go after individual coaches, they go after programs. So what would the NCAA gain by digging up info at WVU about RRod? And they can't punish Michigan based upon stuff he did at WVU.Big Gain wrote:

insuranceguy^^^ Yes but they can use that info to build there case against Michigan. Saying he did it at WVU and Tsun. Shows a pattern of behavior. Glad too see Old Dan is seeing the light. Gee I wonder what the shredded documents were now!?!?
