Little Caesars Pizza Bowl to pit Big 10 vs MAC

Should be a good game for us who live in the areas overlapped by both conferences to watch.

cool. easy win for the big 10 or the potential for a big embarassment. Either way, I'm pretty sure the Big 10 is/was the only major conference that wasnt up against a non-bcs qualifier conference in the bowl season.

how often does the big 10 get 8 bowl eligible teams?

    Finally an easy bowl game.

You don't think Ohio or Central Michigan could have given Purdue or Minnesota a run for their money last year? Granted Purdue wasn't bowl eligible, but I think this would be a very interesting game. Considering the 8th bowl eligible Big 10 team, I think this would make for a very interesting matchup, considering that these MAC teams usually get slated against some of the best teams in the Big 10 in the regular season.

^ no doubt they COULD have gave them a run. I mean, the 8th big 10 team vs the MAC 1 or 2..youd hope it would be somewhat close.

FWIW, this bowl game has been B10 vs MAC forever, this is just an extension of the deal.

However, the B10 usually can't qualify enough teams to meet the obligation, and we get duds like Marshall vs. Ohio.

Central gave Purdue all they wanted in 2007, Purdue had to hit a FG as time ran out to win 51-48.
It set the attendance record for the game too; a Michigan MAC school and a Big Ten school means $$$$

it's nice that tsun may have a bowl game to play in this year, even though it won't be an easy win by any means...

This isn't news. Ever since the inception of this game (used to be called Motor City Bowl) it has always been Big 10 vs MAC (unloess not enough teams from Big 10 qualify).

The third place team will now be playing on blue carpet.
