I think they do stand a chance but I think that the ACC will pull it out....but by slim margins

    GO HEELS!

The ACC is 10-0 versus the Big Ten in this slaughterfest.

    11-0?

    Umm, likely.

Just for the record, since founded in 2007, the ACC women hold a 2-0 record over the Big Ten women in the female version of this series.

    Notables:

Duke is 10-0 all-time in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge

    North Carolina (5-5)

    Ohio State (3-5)

The Blue Devils will travel to Madison this year to take on Bo Ryan's Wisconsin Badgers, so expect a hard fought, good shooting game from Duke if the Blue Devils are to come away with a victory. Despite Duke's massive advantage in talent, a win in Kohl will not come easy. The Badgers are 113-8 there under Ryan, and have only lost 11 games in the building all-time. Impressive stuff.

Wisky isnt very good though. Id be shocked (after watching Duke twice) if this was anything but double digits throughout most of the second half.

I think the B10 is better, but I dont really like the "swing" match-ups for the B10. It will come down to those games imo.
  • iuhoosier11
I really feel like the B10 can compete this year unlike years past. Like laley said, it'll come down to those swing match-ups. If they win the games that I think they should, it'll be 6-5 B10.

The Big Ten is the best conference this year. So I'd say yeah they have a great chance this year.

This summer, I was thinking the B10 might have a chance this year. But already early this season, I am beginning to have my doubts after seeing what the B10 teams are already bringing ( or I should say not bringing ) to the table. Iowa can't even beat their first two cupcakes of the season.

Injuries have hurt both Northwestern and Purdue with both Coble and Jackson out respectively.

Indiana just has not had enough time for their young players to come together.... they are still one year away.

One of the teams, most thought was the cream of the B10 crop.... MSU has already struggled to get a win. They will have their hands full with the defending national champs.

Clemson has already proven that they will be a tough out this year. And Illinois has not proven that they deserve a top 25 ranking, IMHO.

Wisconsin still seems to be a plodding team, that Duke should have no problem figuring out, despite the fact that Duke will be missing the youngest Plumlee brother, that they were depending on contributing early this season.

Of all the B10 teams, I have been most impressed with Ohio State..... and I.m not saying that because I am posting on an Ohio board. To me they have looked the best in the early season.

To add to the injured list for the B10. I just got word that Matt Roth for Indiana broke an ankle in practice today. No status at to the severity, but early indications are that he may miss the season.

The team is in Puerto Rico, getting ready for the tournament there to start on Thursday.

He has already been wearing a mask because of a broken nose suffered in practice two weeks ago.

Not very good match ups for the Big 10.

I see it 6-5 ACC, but I could see the Big 10 getting anywhere from 3 to 7 wins reasonably.
  • 94hoops
Well if Miami of Ohio can almost beat Kentucky, the Big 10 can certainly win the challenge.
  • reclegend22
    Maybe Kentucky is over-hyped, no?
  • ohiotiger33
What does Miami of Ohio and Kentucky have to do with the Big X/ACC challenge? I see no reason the ACC won't go to 11-0 this year. I am sure it will be close as always, but the swing games always seem to go to the ACC.
  • HeathAlum21
When looking at the games, I see only one game where I think the Big Ten team has less than a 20 percent shot at winning. Duke is probably a lock to win, but I can see any of the other Big Ten teams getting the job done.
  • Leonardo
I think the Big Ten finally wins it this year.
  • pbuck
    IMO
ACC Winners - Duke, Maryland, Clemson , Virginia Tech , NC State

Big Ten wins it this year 6-5 IMO

Hey Jr. bacon Cheeseburgers Ohio Tiger

Kentucky and Miami of Ohio have nothing to do with the Big 10/ACC challenge. Just a nice way for me to welcome Reclegend to the freehuddle after suffering through some crap years with UK.

I've gone through the match-ups several times and I see it 6-5 and it's just too close to call. Since I'm a Big Ten fan, I'll jump off the porch and pick the Big 10 to prevail.

I'm telling you guys, at some point in this century the Big 10 has to win this challenge. Hell, it may be this year, maybe not.

Regardless, when the Big 10 does finally win this thing, you can bet your sweet ass the Big 10 will be nothing short of the NBA Atlantic Division, according to some posters.

It reminds me of the hack golfer on the par 3 who claims they are going to get a hole in one this next shot. Well, years and attempts accumulate and after many, many tries, it happens. Now, we have to listen to this golfer tell us he's thinking about joining the tour.
  • darbypitcher22
I'd like to see the Big Ten win some games
  • Heretic
The Big 10 only lost 6-5 last year, didn't they? And they return a lot of talent from those teams, so I think they have a legit shot at winning it.

The injury problems they're already dealing with (esp. Northwestern and Purdue), though, will hurt them. I'm thinking this year could be a coin flip.
  • SQ_Crazies
ACC has dominated this and never lost it as a conference. But no one can say the ACC/Big Ten Challenge isn't awesome. Year after year it produces some of the best games of the season.

HAHAHA after suffering through countless years of listening to how the ACC and BigEast are the best conferences on the face of the earth, and how no one is even close to them, and how the BigEast a few years ago should have gotten 9 teams in to the tourney, as well as the public dick sucking the media does for those two conferences every year, you bet your sweet ass that I'll be celebrating it :) The poor, lowly Big10 is better than "God's conference" in college basketball...How dare they celebrate ;)

The Big Ten has had a SOLID basketball conference the last few years. This year, they are REALLY deep.

This is the first ACC/Big Ten challenge that I could see going either way..

Should be a great couple of days!
  • Mulva
After seeing how bad Penn State has looked I'm going to have to revise my pick. I actually think the ACC could be up 5-1 after day 2.

    7-4 ACC wins it.
  • Mulva
    Penn State beats Virginia 69-66.

    1-0 Big 10.
