Michigan 2010 Season
-
TBradyfanAs much as I hate to say this, Michigan was not in that game against OSU last year. Don't be fooled by the score and the 5 turnovers. Tressel is not much for embarrassing teams including Michigan. Of course the one exception was 42-7 in 2008. If he would have thrown the playbook at Michigan and let Prior loose, they would have matched that 2008 total they had. They did enough to get out of Ann Arbor with yet another win. This will be another long year for the not so "Big Blue." I am looking at there schedule and I am having a hard time finding 6 wins.

I'm not taking away from OSU, I'm just saying that Michigan's O was able to do some things. It wasn't like in 08 when the O was 3-out every series.devil1197 wrote:
Who do you think caused all those turnovers?ksig489 wrote: As much as OSU fans refuse to admit it...Michigan didnt play too bad against them and actually may have been in the game had it not been for Forcier throwing beautiful passes right to OSU defenders. Didnt he have like 5 giveaways that game? 5 INTs and a fumble?
Torrence baited Forcier for one INT, Coleman had a great INT down field, our DL blew up UM to create the fumble etc. -
bo shemmy3337Michigan is still a year away from contending for a big ten tittle IMO. Tate can not run and Denard can not pass. Those are not things you can make a huge improvement on in one off season. Neither of those guys are good enough right now and wont be for another year or two IMO. The defense is going to surprise a lot of people this year with a much improved secondary and year two under the system.

Sat., Sep. 4 vs. Connecticut-W (I think UM comes out and plays their best game of the year)TBradyfan wrote: I am looking at there schedule and I am having a hard time finding 6 wins.
Sat., Sep. 11 at Notre Dame-W (N.D. is struggling on offense according to all the reports)
Sat., Sep. 18 vs. Massachusetts-W (blow out)
Sat., Sep. 25 vs. Bowling Green-W (blow out 2.0)
Sat., Oct. 2 at Indiana-W (high scoring game but Michigan wins by 10 points)
Sat., Oct. 9 vs. Michigan State-W (the new thug U gets put back in their place)
Sat., Oct. 16 vs. Iowa-L (closer then what people expect.......is it just me or does Iowa suck when we expect them to be good and are good when we expect them to suck?)
Sat., Oct. 30 at Penn State-L (close game....that young PSU team will start to be gel by this time)
Sat., Nov. 6 vs. Illinois-W (UM wins by 14+)
Sat., Nov. 13 at Purdue-W (HIGH scoring game but UM beats them for the first time in the RR era)
Sat., Nov. 20 vs. Wisconsin-L (see Iowa)
Sat., Nov. 27 at Ohio State-L (what do I really need to say other then FML.....some one update me how many years has it been? I lost count)
So that puts them at 8-4 RR stays and 2011 they compete for the big10 title. Oh and we get to go bowling -

They could very well lose to Purdue as well, who will be a bowl team this season. I would LOL at 4-8. Still, looking objectively, the offense is going to keep getting better and the defense can't get any worse, so I think they take UConn and Purdue, and the ND and MSU are tossup games. I am also terrified of them coming to Columbus. They are due to fuck us good one of these years. Still, I would love nothing more than a 9-2 or 8-3 UM team feeling good about themselves to come into the Shoe and watch the Bucks lay a 45-0 beatdown on them. That would be very enjoyable.gamauter wrote: UConn L

Are you serious? They will not win 8 games this season. Yes, ND may be struggling but what do you call what Michigan has done the last 2 years? Michigan got worse as the season went on last year. NO IMPROVEMENT!! They will lose to ND. Michigan St will beat them as well, and finally either Purdue or Illinois will beat them, possibly both.OldDanTucker wrote:

If I were a UofM fan I would be seriously concerned about the defense for 2010. You don't lose B. Graham, Stevie Brown, and Donovan Warren and not take some lumps. Maybe they have young talent waiting to fill in, but they still have yet to prove they can be physical enough to slow down better Big10 teams.devil1197 wrote: Honestly think that Gardner should be given a RS this season.
Although UM will be improved, I am not sure their defense will be that good to keep them in games while a young FR QB is leading the offense. I'd much rather take my chances with Tate or Denard running the offense with at least some B10 experience.
Similar to OSU when Pryor was thrown into the fire. OSU had a good defense to keep them in games while Pryor and the offense struggled at times. -

So let me get this straight ND despite losing to Michigan last year, losing a 1st round QB and WR will beat Michigan who lose Brandon Grahm, Donavon Warren, and Zoltan Mesko? Got it.......Michigan state loses to Michigan last year IF (I know woulda coulda shoulda) it was not for freshman mistakes (Yea UM can not improve there can they)not to mention the RB who actualy kicked michigans ass in that game is spending the next 60 days in jail and is kicked off the team, and the safety that seemed to be breaking up every damn play is his cell mate.......Purdue loses their best WR and just lost their starting RB and have very little returning on D......Illinois? seriously? I just can do nothing but laugh at that comment, they return NO ONE. No Juice, no Benn, ron zook managing the game=Illinois finishing last place this year in the big ten. Michigan has won 1 road game in RR's short tenure at Michigan. Do you really think a very young, not so confident Michigan team, who will IMO get beat the week before, go into ND and win? Unfortunately the way Michigan has played on the road the last 2 years, it doesn't matter too much who ND loses.OldDanTucker wrote:

and this is the most talented team Michigan has had in RR's short tenure. My mistake lol.........I agree it is to early to tell I was just pointing out at this time they are struggling with the new offense. I expect them to improve but by game 2 i do not expect them to be that great of a offense just imo. -
Trueblue23I think Forcier will end up the odd man out in the QB race.
Robinson is improving leaps and bounds, and Gardner is the future of Michigan football. I say Forcier will transfer within 2 years. -

You have to deal with what we know for sure. Not hoping what will will happen. We know RR has had the worst two seasons in Michigan history. We know RR has won 1 road game since being at Michigan. We know Michigan has not shown improvement from the beginning of the season to the end of season since RR has been there. We know RR has a losing record without Pat White being his QB. Now 8 wins is good enough when LLoyd was fired for that. None of this makes sense at all. If Tressel had 2 seasons like RR. I would want him gone period end of story. -
TinkertrainAnyone who doubted that Denard has improved dramatically as a passer was proved wrong today in the spring game. Mark my words guys Denard Robinson will be the starting qb for Michigan this season baring injury.
Also idk where RR found that Hopkins kid but what a friggin load at RB. -

Robinson is going against a less than stellar defense.
He may be starting, but I wouldn't feel too great about it. This is just being an true football fan. Robinson showed no signs at all last season of being a viable passing QB. He will need to have improved greatly by the time 2010 season starts. -

Mark my words guys Denard Robinson will be the starting qb for Michigan this season baring injury.
Also idk where RR found that Hopkins kid but what a friggin load at RB.
Robinson is going against a less than stellar defense.
He may be starting, but I wouldn't feel too great about it. This is just being an true football fan. Robinson showed no signs at all last season of being a viable passing QB. He will need to have improved greatly by the time 2010 season starts. -
Thrilla12Michigan shoud be decent this year I think there biggest tests will be Iowa, OSU, Wisc. If Michigan can beat two of the three then they'll convince people they are back.
