Salem needs a new coach
-
sportsforlifeIn girls, too.
-
ts1227source?
Or, are you simply suggesting that Salem needs a new coach? -
QuakerOatsThe coach is stepping down, I believe due to time/family etc...... It was a good run.

Nope - just stating that the girls program is in need of a new coach. Article in today's paper (resignation) - Should be interesting in Salem as both basketball jobs (plus girls track) - seek new coaches. And who knows how many assistants. The student athletes feel like they are in mass confusion right now....ts1227 wrote: source?

ts1227Our awesome media outlets in the area decided it wasn't worth mentioning on the internet. Still can't find it anywhere but here and Yappi...
(I believe you, as it is posted multiple places by multiple people citing multiple sources, just pissed at all of the poor excuses for legitimate media) -
QuakerOatsThe student athletes are getting a chance to learn life lessons --- one being that change is inevitable and learning to deal with it, embrace it, and manage through it, is important and necessary in order to be successful.
I am hopeful that the administration is communicating to the kids that there will be new coaches brought in who will be excellent, and who will be relying on next year's seniors to start being leaders ..... now.
Go Quakers !!! -
SQ_CraziesI'm not surprised, he left with Ms. Scullion.
When I read the first post my first thought was that it was probably due to family. He was a good coach, good guy too and I can't blame him for ducking out to be with his kid and wife. -

Life lessons are valuable - totally agree - but right now they are kids with apprehension - which will get better over time - However sending you an LOL - administration communicating with the students - a double LOL....QuakerOats wrote: The student athletes are getting a chance to learn life lessons --- one being that change is inevitable and learning to deal with it, embrace it, and manage through it, is important and necessary in order to be successful.

SQ_CraziesDefinitely has a point.

ts1227Depends on the admins we're talking about here. Some would, but a few I think we know better.
-
CardsFlyinHighJack Berman, former coach at Mooney would be a good fit i believe
-
SQ_CraziesEh..
-
CardsFlyinHighOut of all those that applied, Berman is the most qualified. The response for the girls job was no where near as high as for the boys job.

I think that'd be a good choice. Wonder if she'd be interested. -
tribepronk41haha that's true...but im sure there isnt many other people who would want the job more than her
-
CardsFlyinHighFar as i know, she did not apply
-
ts1227I don't know the stipulations/procedures of application processes, but if there was a boy's candidate that they liked but they ranked as #2 or #3, would it be acceptable to offer them the girl's job?
-
sportsforlifeWhat names are on the list?
-
CardsFlyinHighSome of the names for the girls job are Jack berman, Jerry Beltempo, Sam Mathias, Debra Ketchum, Scott Pizak, Tim Vick
-

TS, I have heard of that before. cant think of any examples off the top of my head but I have heard of that happening before at schools around the area. However with most of the top names applying for the boys job being established boys coaches, I dought any of them would take a girls job. Some of the younger candidates might if they were offered the chance though. Especially since none of the girls applicants stand out as "holy crap that would be great if they got the job" candidates. Although I do like Berman just because of past dealings with him.ts1227 wrote: I don't know the stipulations/procedures of application processes, but if there was a boy's candidate that they liked but they ranked as #2 or #3, would it be acceptable to offer them the girl's job? -
