Massillon Jackson Polar Bears

I watched Jackson play earlier in the year and yes I am surprised the won it all. Aside from when there is NBA-ready talent in the tourney (LeBron and Mayo) it really does take some breaks to win the state title. I thought there were at least a handful of teams in D1 better than Jackson. IMO the difference in the state tourney was their guard play, Shull and Dupont were outstanding.

Honestly, I thought there was no way that Northland would not win it all, they have dominated all year.

Egner is "only" going to Akron because he needs to develop his jumper, only uses his right hand, and plays out of control at times. Yes, the kid obviously plays with intensity, is athletic, and has some hops.

    Congratulations to Jackson.

After watching the state tournament for decades, can say two things about the D-I final --

Jackson wasn't bad, but very average for a D-I final team. Most teams of their ability would not have made the final. Moeller on the other hand, was one of the worst teams I've ever seen as a D-I finalist. How they made it that far is impossible to comprehend.

I agree with this bolded statement.

+3 on Moeller. Other than the very soft 6'9 kid McKenzie, the team comprised of a bunch of 5'10 non-athletic kids who just played to the best of their abilities. I'm not knocking them, that is just who they are. I am surprised they were able to get by Princeton and LaSalle.

As far as the STO announcers, what do you expect? It is not as if STO has the budget to hire real sports broadcasters. It's like the old saying goes: You get what you pay for.
