Defiance vs Port Clinton

  • Pstlpete
A team with two losses facing another that is undefeated. I am not familiar with Port Clinton, but know a lot about Defiance. Anyone have any input on this game.

Game Time 8pm at BGSU on Thursday.

Port Clinton's 23-0 record is a bit misleading, IMO. I'd go with Defiance in this one. The Redskins' schedule just very weak versus a very demanding schedule played by the Bulldogs.

Im from the SBC area and PC is indeed 23-0, they havent played any power teams but they play well as a team and dont have that one superstar that some teams do. They have two big, mobile guys in the middle and a couple guys who can knock down the three. PC only plays 2 guys off the bench so depth may be a little problem at this level but theyve gotten through it so far. The biggest thing about PC is they have taken every teams best shot and have toughed it out every game, as a matter of fact they have been down at some point in every tournament game so far. This game should be the better one of the two at the BG regional.

Can Defiance keep it going against a very good Port Clinton team? I'll stay with the Bulldogs in a nail biter.

PC will have lots and lots of fan support. Should be a very good game. Have to support and go with the Redskins. Playing a home and home game against everyone in the SBC is tough and they took everyones best shot the second time around the league. The winner of this game should go to state. It will be loud.

erie, the WBL is a much tougher league then the SBC was this year. The SBC was way down this year while the WBL has two teams at the BG regional with Celina and Defiance

How is P.C.'s record "misleading?" I'm not a P.C. fan, but I've seen them a couple times. I also have seen Defiance. I'm leaning toward the Bulldogs.

Having seen both teams play two times this year, this will be a very good game.

Defiance's schedule may be tougher, no doubt, but that isn't fair because PC just didn't get to play those types of games.

Experience matters here and I think whoever wins this game wins by less than 5.

My take: PC 65, Defiance 61.

Regardless of tonight's outcome there has been a TON of Crap being talked by people about both teams (mainly on some other forums). Sometimes certain people think that they can live their high school career over in the eyes of their kids. These kids (Port Clinton and Defiance) have enough pressure on them to win. Port Clinton has a perfect season on the line and Defiance has their best record in history to deal with. They just need to let them play and see who the better high school team is. But I know that once the dust has settled, there will be people complaining that little johnny got screwed or their kid didn't get the touches that he rightfully deserves.

Best of luck to both team and hopefully it's injury-free. I'm rooting for Defiance as I have been for the last countless years. Go Dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep it rolling.

These two teams are very closely matched. Entertaining game tonight in BG. P.C. just a little stronger inside. I'd go with the Redskins to edge Celina in the regional final, but between a few high school games and about six NCAA games, I've missed most of them.
