InterValley Conference Pickem Standings
-
ricolaBy my count, all but 3 IVC games have been played. The ones I can't account for are:
Garaway @ Strasburg
Malvern @ Newcomerstown
---both these (I think) are scheduled for March 1.
Also the Conotton Valley @ Malvern game originally scheduled for 2/16 has, to the best of my knowledge not been played (nor do I know of a make-up date). If anyone has furhter knowledge about these games (or any others that have not been played yet) let me know.
In any event, I have the results of the Pickem up to now---NOT including these 3 games:
Leader with 56: RICOLA!
55: majorspark
54: hesston
53: jlghoops
50: arnie palmer
49: bfan, tigerfan82
45: pariah
40: tfloangel
(those are the major regular players. next most is our friend jjhuddle with 30)
Can't guarantee those results, but to the best of my ability to follow up on all the friggin cancelled and rescheduled games, that's it.
As for the rescheduled games, I think everyone has picked Malvern over Nct, and Malvern over CV. (if you haven't you should have your head examined).
the major game left that could realistically go either way is the Strasburg/Garaway game. If any of you want to change your pick for that game (or either of the 2 others) do it here. The cough drops await the winner---(will I get them all to myself, or will I have to share?).
I initially picked Garaway in that game, but am changing to Strasburg. Hoping they will come out inspired and win their last home game on the floor never to be seen again. (and in the process they will both a- knock Garaway out of a share of the IVC championship, and b- become so exhausted doing so that they won't have a win left in them for the tournaments)
will try to do a final post somewhere down the road.....
MONDAY 3/1 ADDENDUM:
hoops tells me the Malvern/CV game WAS played (Malvern won--who knew). I looked back and surprisingly NOBODY picked the CV upset, so if you voted that week, add a point to your total.
Which means that after 3/1, and the 2 makeup games, this contest will (mercifully) be over and we'll have a winner declared. Check back for the final results. -

BfanThis reminds me of the few years that I was in a fantasy league and the guy who won it, won it every year he was in charge, his first lose came when he wasn't in charge. I guess that is the price you pay to not have to do any extra work. Thanks for running it ricola.

tigerfan82I don't know how hoops got ahead of me???????????? Is he buying the cough drops ric?????
-
jlghoopsTigerfan...I picked the Hornets both times against your Tigers, I think that would be the difference. We would both have 51 if your fantasy wins by the Tigers had come true
Can I pick Strasburg tonight for 5 points? I actually picked them, but I want to quintuple my bet -
ricolakinda like double or nothing for the next 3 years or so?
(and whoever buys the cough drops usually gets a few extra bonus points added--just not as many as the administrator gets!)
btw, this is the only time i've been in the top 3 for the past 4-5 years (--probably mostly cuz the previous years' leaders/winners either didn't play or forgot a week or two--or more). Number of wins for the winning picks the last few years were all well over 60. maybe shows a little more depth and more competetiveness in the league top to bottom this year than previous. -
tigerfan82hahahahaha..................The big City of StrasVegas is like Fantasyland hoops........the Tigers are up by 14 at the half!!!
-
tigerfan82Tigers upset Garaway tonight 62-48........a good farewell to the old girl........wish I could have been there!
-
ricolagood job Tigers!
-
jlghoopsCongrats to the Tigers for the final win in the old barn.
ricola...I deserve the five bonus points just because you wrote off the IVC title and now your boys have it all to themselves...I believe I was the one that spun the tale of how it could happen and it did -
Hesstongood job Strasburg way to close out the final chapter in the old barn
