Bowling Green 75 Anthony Wayne 52

The Bobcats returned to a more balanced scoring attack tonight as Tony Dible came out on fire and led the Cats with 23. Chauncey Orr chipped in 20 more and X. Brown contributed 13. Jonathan Stoner hit a couple perimeter shots and played tough defense and the Bobcats did a much better job on the boards. Hopefully it will give this team a boost heading into Saturday's game at Central and then the Tournament Trail in Liberty Benton.

Not sure Central Catholic will be at peak performance after big City League title game Thursday night. If Irish play the kind of defense they played the last two games, BG will just hate it and lose by 15. But if the Irish don't play with high intensity, BG could pull the upset. This one will be won or lost on attitude in my opinion.

I think BG has almost no chance in this game.

You are probably right, phbobcat, but something tells me that this BG team has one amazing game in there somewhere. It's probably not Central, but what a story it would make!

i think their amazing games were almost Findlay, almost SJJ, almost OG, almost Pburg 2X, almost Rossford. Maybe next year

phobobcat: Don't be too hard on the Bobcats this season. After all, the last two years there were almost no "amazing" games and very few "almost" games. Next year is a slam dunk NLL title unless Springfield really gets it together.

I commend your optimism, ross ford, but I think we need to add one more contender that BG will have to deal with in 2011. I don't really know how he does it year after year, but I just don't think you can ever count those pesky Yellow Jackets out . Coach Boyce produces miracles on a yearly basis and although he loses some very talented kids, I would be very wary of that team. And for the record, I think that the NLL is tough enough, and has enough quality coaches, that if you're not ready, you can lose to anyone in the league on any given night. Other than those few observations, I would agree that BG is a "slam dunk" choice for the NLL Title in 2011.

Is The Blade accurate today in that BG had only 4 people score points against Central Saturday? No Dible? No Stoner? As good as X.Brown and Orr are becoming, this can be a problem for the future. This needs to get fixed for the tournament, and for next season. Might not be much depth next season either.

I wasn't at the game Saturday in Toledo and while I totally agree that the Bobcats will have to share the ball more in the tournament if they want to be successful, I was semi- surprised by the final score in OT that greeted me when I went out to get the paper this morning. Given Central's huge City League victory over St. Francis earlier and Bowling Green coming in as loose as they could be, it was still a good game competitvely for the Cats. Perhaps they can get back to the team ball they displayed at Anthony Wayne Friday night and surprise a team or two in the tournament. Go NLL.
