Domination. Sorry, just being honest. I'd love to see Struthers pull the upset.

The Cats are scrappy though! Its gonna be a CAT FIGHT TONIGHT!

They're going to learn what it's like to play with the big grils, that's what is going to happen most likely. I hope you're right though, I hope they scrap their way to Columbus. Good luck Struthers.

Hathaway Brown defeats Struthers 63-35. Still, a spot in the Elite Eight is quite an accomplishment. Great season Struthers
  • SQ_Crazies
Absolutely. Figured that would be the result, but a great fun for Struthers. Congrats!

to their credit they did play very tough, tied after one, down 7 i believe at half??? i kinda question some serious holes in the strategy that i seen but who am i to question the coach...
  • SQ_Crazies
Exactly. Who are you to question a coach that made a run to the elite 8 from STRUTHERS?! Hathaway Brown is a different animal, that's why I knew the result would be what it was. Only so much the coach can do, it is what it is.

actually its pretty simple to question a coach who cant even break a man press when you have a one man press breaker on your team as it is! they didnt run one single press breaker, every single time they just ran around...

i can tell him what he should of done...drop 3 back and let dana mathews go one on one with whoever is guarding her, guaranteed it would work everytime...instead he insisted on pulling all 5 players up and causing chaos which as we all seen worked to HB's advantage...if nothing else run some stinkin screens to get youtr guards open, dont just run around with no purpose...come on man anyone can recognize that...

and while im at it...HB had their best player on mathews, mathews is 10 times quicker then woods is, why not spread the floor and let dana go right at her and get woods in foul trouble and penetrate and creat for her teammates...instead they struggled to get her the ball and the offense struggled because of it. and in her defense since shes such a great competitor and winner when she finally did get the ball she put up hurried and bad shots trying to make a play cause she had no idea when she was gonna get the ball back...

i think struthers played their hearts out and im a nuetral observer. i happened to go see a game a few weeks back and liked how they played so i took another oportunity to go see them. HB is a great team no doubt but im just pointing out a few things i thought coulda changed the game for the better for struthers..

You're underestimating the all around talent of HB. Matthews is good, but when you get that deep rarely will one player win the game for you--ESPECIALLY against a team like HB. I've seen players who are capable of that sort of thing--but Dana Matthews isn't one of them.

well first of all im not underestimating them at all, i have myself coached against them (and this is the 3rd time ive seen them this year). im not even suggesting that they coulda won because that would be kinda unrealistic considering their talent level. what i was trying to get at is they should look at other ways of handling pressure, i seen it against west branch as well where they got pressed in the 4th and gave up a 15 point lead...i also am aware that one person will not beat HB but if there is a chance (and id say that they were right where they wanted to be in the first half, within striking distance) you have to get your best player involved and not allow her to be face guarded all night and not isolated from the offense. i find it hard to believe that any person who seen this game could honestly disagre with my observations...

Well, I'll fully admit, I wasn't at the game. But I just knew before hand that there was no chance in hell that Struthers would beat HB unless HB beat themselves.
