Week #12 NLL Pick 'Em Results

Well, here we are. The results are like they have been all season. It's anyone's contest to win as there are six pollsters within three points of each other, and Week 13 has several games that are no more than a coin flip either way.

One last reminder...the weather this week is very "iffy" early in the week. Keep those updates coming if you hear something that I don't. I have really appreciated everyone's patience and cooperation this season and hopefully, this final week will go smoothly and we will have no more untimely cancellations and/or postponements!!! :D

    Feb. 22:
-Maumee. If the Panthers really want to win they will.

    Feb. 24:
-Bowsher. Rebels are better than some expected at the beginning of the season.

    Feb. 26:
-Southview. Not a shocker if Maumee beats the Cougars in this one.
-Perrysburg. Could the Devils ruin Perrysburg's perfect NLL season. Very possible.
-BG. Bobcats can't lose to the Generals. Almost nobody can.
-Rossford. Could be a competitive game but Bulldogs should be ready.

    Feb. 27:
-Central Catholic. As noted before, Bobcats have better player personnel. Coaching is a bigtime mismatch.
-Springfield. Napoleon will be an excellent test for the Devils.

    Monday, February 22nd Game

Otsego............I will probably be very sorry, but I can't see this team losing. Maumee is a dangerous
team and I realize that they could win, but I'm going to stick with the Knights in this one.

    Wednesday, February 24th Game

Toledo Bowsher..........Again, the way Bowsher is playing right now, I just can't see the Panthers winning.

    Friday, February 26th Games

Sylvania Southview.....I know that the chances of Maumee losing all of these games are probably remote,
but I don't think they beat the Cougars on the road. (**2 Point Game)
Perrysburg................The Jackets will win this game because they are always ready.
Bowling Green............They must have this game. A loss here would be devastating.
Rossford....................Northview will be determined but Leahy will be there.

    Saturday, February 27th Games

Toledo Central Catholic.....Do I think BG can win this game? Yes. Go do it, Bobcats. Prove me wrong!
Springfield.......................Napoleon has a lot of pride and they always get better every year as the
season progresses. Springfield is a very good team and they are at home.

    MONDAY:
*Maumee over Otsego by 5. Panthers have lost too many close games to good teams to lose to the Knights.

    WEDNESDAY:
*Bowsher over Maumee by 9. This is no easy game for the TCL but Rebels have just enough to win.

    FRIDAY:
*Southview over Maumee by 11. Cougars - whether injuries or chemistry - just up and down all year. The SJJ win seems long ago.
*Perrysburg over Springfield by 3. Yellow Jackets hang on for 14-0 NLL record, but a Devils win not at all surprising.
*Bowling Green over AW by 16. The NLL's preseason favorite's loss to Rossford just adds to the dismay in BG, but an easy win here.
*Rossford over Northview by 10. Bulldogs have legitimate hopes about winning a few games in the post season.

    SATURDAY:
*Central Catholic over BG by 6. If BG plays its best and the Irish do not, this one goes the other way.
*Springfield over Napoleon by 4. Wildcats have won far more games than I expected. Good matchup.

Maumee lost by 3. 2 chances at the end to tie it up but maumee couldn't do it. I was impressed by otsego's o rebounding ability (or maumees lack of defensive rebounding) and otsego has a few smart guards who do exactly what they need to to win games. Nothing amazing just smart play.
  • ross ford81
Not good for the NLL. But very good for Swamp Fox who is in the driver's seat now.
  • Swamp Fox
I think the Eastwood-Otsego game will be quite a contest. It will depend on which Otsego team shows up. Will it be the team that lost to Liberty Center by 17, or will it be the Knight team that ambushed Elmwood or edged Maumee on the road tonight? I'm not going to predict a winner, but I'm not sure I'd vote against Otsego, although I think that Eastwood is the superior team on paper.

Maumee beat Bowsher by roughly 15. I know Maumee scored +60. O and I would like to mention Davis scored about 35 and reached 1,000+ for his career in the 3rd quarter. 2nd junior in Northwest Ohio to do it.
  • BG Warthog
Maumee is killin' me this week.
  • rmolin73
That's okay you will rebound on Friday:D

I don't understand the Maumee team at all. They play teams like Waite like potential league champions, and then they will lose three or four in a row that they should have probably won. Southview has been very similar to Maumee in that respect. I suppose it is a fitting conclusion to two very unpredictable teams.
  • NLLBEST
Maumee beats presses very well. (that explains wins over Waite and Bowsher who both constantly pressed) and other then that they have beaten the 3 other teams (4 games) on pure talent.
  • rmolin73
Like I said on another board if Southview's coach allows the kids to play team ball they win (SJJ, Rogers, Rossford) if he allows his prima donna senior to try and take all the shots and I mean try they lose to Maumee.
  • NLLBEST
^^^He must not have taken all the shots because Maumee was playing from behind almost the whole game. I am disappointed in the play of a couple of Maumees starters lately. Even in the win over Bowsher they seemed to not be playing as well as expected. This is deffinately a rough way to hed into districts for Maumee.
  • hookshot
I understand Borcherdt had an outstanding game for Southview last night. Thought Southview would be a little better overall as a team this season. What about next year?
  • Swamp Fox
I think that Coach Jump does a nice job over at Southview and although the Cougars have been somewhat inconsistent this season, they have had some crucial injuries to deal with and they have had to totally revamp the line-up due to serious graduation losses from last year's fine ball club. I would expect the Cougars to be very competitive next year.
  • NLLBEST
Southview loses 3 starters next year but return gant, chuba?, Pickney and Renner
  • rmolin73
Southview returns Gant, Pinckney, Chuba, Renner, and Quinn. Of the five mentioned I foresee Gant and Pinckney of course to start as well as Quinn and one of the jv guards. In my opinion you will see 2 freshmen get considerable playing time with one of the two starting the younger Pinckney and the younger Hall are already better players than Chuba and Renner already as 8th graders. In 2011-2012 you will see a line up of predominately sophmores for Southview mark my words.
