I was reading the Courier and they had a blog about if the five unbeaten teams in Northwest Ohio teams played a tournament, who would win? Well, I'll expand a little more and add three other really good teams and let everyone weigh in on who would win the tournament. The five undefeated teams got the top five seeds.
(1) Marion Harding - 3rd in Division I, 16-0
(2) Tiffin Columbian - 1st in Division II, 19-0
(3) Liberty-Benton - 1st in Division III, 19-0
(4) Ottoville - 1st in Division IV, 19-0
(5) Lake - 5th in Division III, 17-0
(6) Toledo Waite - 6th in Division I, 16-2
(7) Toledo Start - 7th in Division I, 15-3
(8) Sandusky Perkins - 5th in Division II, 16-1
What say ye Freehuddle Nation?
What a great discussion topic!
I would seed the teams this way and these would be my first round match-ups (I would not give the top five seeds to undefeateds):
1) Toledo Waite vs 8) Lake
4) Tiffin Columbian vs. 5) Liberty Benton
3) Marion Harding vs. 6) Sandusky Perkins
2) Toledo Start vs. 7) Ottoville
***I am sure not everyone agrees with my seeds, but it was fun to think about! Here is how I think the tourney would go....
First Round:
Waite beats Lake by a wide margin, Lake just doesn't see that kind of play in the SLL.
Liberty Benton beats TC in a very tight match-up. This is one I would love to see actually happen!
Marion Harding beats Sandusky Perkins in a close game. Another great match-up.
Toledo Start is too much for Ottoville, although closer than the experts may think.
Semi Finals:
Toledo Waite beats Liberty Benton in 3 OT's. What a game!
Marion Harding beats Toledo Start in an epic game.
Finals:
Toledo Waite finishes it off in impressive fashion.
