Northern Lakes League Predictions??

Swamp FoxLots of stuff up on "the other site". Perhaps we could get something going over here?? What are your opinions about the upcoming season?

Swamp FoxBG and Scott scrimmaged the other night and I was wondering if anyone actually was there to see it. My understanding was that BG won all or almost all of the quarters played. Anyone out there help us out?
-
rmolin73Scotts team as a whole is gutted. I will find out the specifics though.

I wouldn't disagree with rmolin overall. We could see Rossford sneak up a notch with Leahy and Kralovic playing well. BG and Perrysburg will be tough.rmolin73 wrote: Top Half

Here's my early take on the NLL:ESP13 wrote:

1. Bowling Green: By far most experience. 6-8 foreign exchange student is the real deal. Without him (3rd). With him (1st)
2. Perrysburg: Coaching a huge advantage for Jackets, but not quite enough to overcome BG advantages this year.
3. Southview: Better than some may think. Decent talent back but losing Hausfeld, et al will hurt.
4. Springfield: Lots of uncertainty yet here. Someone report what the lineup is likely to be.
5. Maumee: Maybe a top half finisher. Improved from last season.
6. Rossford: Wish I could be more optimistic. Strong guard play anyway.
7. Northview: Should be grateful that AW is in the NLL this year.
8. Anthony Wayne: Should have this spot locked up. -
rmolin73ESP13 what are the coaching changes at Perrysburg.

I think that perhaps the poster was thinking Girls and wrote it in the Boys thread. I can't think of any Boy's coaching changes at either Rossford or Perrysburg. I may be way off base here. Someone in the know????rmolin73 wrote: ESP13 what are the coaching changes at Perrysburg. -

Big Oops on my part! Yes, I was thinking of the girl's side. Sorry for the confusion.Swamp Fox wrote:

ross ford81Starting to think maybe Perrysburg can win it this year. They don't have much size but the coaching edge just might be enough to carry the Yellow Jackets past BG, even this year when the Bobcats have such a personnel advantage. Any reports out there on how these two teams are doing right now?
-
rmolin73I have not heard anything regarding how BG did in any of their scrimmages. So I'm wondering why all the secrecy? I guess we will just have to see next week what they actually bring to the table.
-
Swamp FoxI only saw one quarter last night and BG won 21-9 vs. Defiance. BG is quick, deep and and talented. I understand that the "Big guy" is making the transformation from European Club Ball to our more team oriented game but I think he will work out just fine. He wasn't playing when I walked in. Bowsher was also there but I didn't see BG against Bowsher. I can tell you that Bowsher edged Defiance in the last quarter of the evening by one. I think that BG will be a major player in the League race this year barring injuries or grade issues. I think that these kids are all pretty decent students so it comes down to staying healthy for the Bobcats. BG is bigger than they have been. Much bigger.
-
ross ford81I expect Defiance to be fairly strong this year -- good size and a sophomore transfer who is one of the best 2012 players in Northwest Ohio. So if BG handled them easily then the Bobcats may be in for a long ride to the top of the NLL and then some.

NLLBESTI think this may be the best from 1-6 the NLL has been in awhile outside of A-W and Northview anybody could pull off a win on a good night.

Swamp FoxThis should be perhaps the most exciting Northern Lakes League Season in history. A lot of very good teams with the chances for upsets all over the place. It all starts this weekend. By late Saturday night we will be able to figure it out a little bit better perhaps, but I think this season will be "one for the ages". Are you ready for some basketball?

hookshotWe ought to be able to get some solid information by now on starting lineups by now. Anyone with concrete information on an NLL team please let us know.
