Whitmer vs St Johns Tickets!

  • jm71witmr
Tickets for the Whitmer vs. St. John's game at St. John's on Tues., 2/9 are now available in Room 108 of the Whitmer building. Adult tickets $6 and Student tickets $4.

This will probably be a well attended game -- possibly a sell out.

No one in the City seems to be able to beat St. Johns in their building this year (or any other year, for that matter!). Can Whitmer turn that around and steal a huge road win at St. Johns this week? If I'm a betting man, I would say no, but I jumped on the Whitmer bandwagon right out of the box this season, so I'll stick with the Panthers. It will take by far their greatest game to date. If they are successful, it will certainly make for an interesting last couple of weeks. I got so excited I didn't realize the game was scheduled for last night. For some reason I had this game being played this weekend. Oh well...dementia is setting in big time. Anyway...whenever this game gets played, it should be a barn-burner.

    Next Tuesday night at SJJ

Just for general information, the Bowling Green game today against Pickerington Central is scheduled for a 4:30 JV starting time, followed at around 6:30 or so with the varsity game. There is no freshman game so if this is your planned destination today, be there in time.

Are advanced tickets available at St. John's either Monday (I know there is no school) or Tuesday? Will this be a pre-game night sellout?

Whitmer may be the best team St. Johns has played this year. I think the potential of this Panther team is incredibly high. Can Whitmer win the game? I really think that the Panthers can win, but I think it's going to be feast or famine. It will either be St. Johns by a lot, or Whitmer will make a statement and win a one or two point game on the Titan's floor tonight. I'm pulling for the latter.

Swamp Fox, you do a great job on this site. And you may prove to be right by tonight or the end of the season -- but I'm not sold on Whitmer to the extent you may be. Better teams that Whitmer that St. John's has played: St. Edward, Central Catholic, Romulus, maybe one or two others. Having said that, Whitmer appears to be playing much better ball of late and is certainly a formidable team. Tonight's game will not be decisive in terms of how good either of these teams are, but just a little more evidence.

You are probably right on paper, ross ford81, but as you mention, the Panthers are playing really well right now and if everything is clicking, I think this Whitmer team may not be better than those clubs you have correctly alluded to, but on a given night I think it is within the realm of possibility that the Panthers could win. Your analysis is duly noted and certainly respected. We'll just have to see. I have already said that if the Panthers win, it will be a nail biter. If St. Johns wins, I look for a 10 point or more spread.

This game is meaningless. The second meeting for the city championship will have much more impact or even the third in the state playoffs.

Central BEAT Whitmer at whitmer.........give it a rest....lol

The game is never meaningless. St. John's wins by 15 points, and I don't think the Titans played all that well. Whitmer is OK, and I think they can beat St.John's. They may have their chance soon.

Well, so much for my prediction. Although I suppose you could say part of my prediction came to pass, I didn't expect the ease with which St. Johns dispatched the Panthers. I guess it really does make a difference if you are used to playing on the big stage more regularly. I still think this Whitmer team is very good but some of the lustre was taken away with the victory by St. Johns. Now....can the Panthers rally the troops and come back with a vengeance in their remaining games and get even in the tournament? We'll just have to see.

you never know on a neutral site--anything can happen...should be a good final four

I am disappointed in the outcome of the game. We didn't play the best of games and no doubt will work on the things that can be controlled.
All games are important and this loss like all are hard to take. Whitmer will be fine and come out fighting in the city final 4 on Tues.
Being undefeated (with 1 game left)in the city is a huge accomplishment and the Titans deserve props.
The 8th grade girl that sang the national anthem did a very nice job-congrats to her.
