justafan34Any possible 1st or 2nd round upsets here? Northwestern over Hillsdale is a possibililty and the winner of Loudonville vs. Wellington over Smithville also. I know Smithville is playing well but I believe that both Loudonville and Wellington are coached well enough that they could pull of the upset over Smithville.
I think the best 1st round games will be Black River vs. Norwayne and Loudonville vs. Wellington. -

I agree, but I think the Loudonville vs. Wellington game would be more "watchable".justafan34 wrote: Any possible 1st or 2nd round upsets here? AS for more watchable games in the first round, I would think they would be Northwestern vs. Tuslaw and Loudonville vs. Wellington are the only games worth paying to see. To bad they are on separate nights. I'll skip the first round and go to the second round games., maybe check out Canton games or Garfield Hts.thePITman wrote:

thePITmanYou can't go wrong with the DI Canton district. Wow, they are loaded! I will be at all the DIII Wooster games, obviously, so I can give you a report if you want it.
-
FlashSmithville is defeated by NWern and Orrville still has to play Wooster at Wooster. Any other tough match ups left before the tournament starts.
-
OneBuckeyeSomeone should write up a preview of the tourny of all the teams. (Or their team) I haven't followed Wayne county basketball teams this year and don't know anything about the players or anything else noteable that during their respective seasons. It may be benificial to other people who may not know much about your team... and to me who hasn't followed wayne county bball in a few years .
-
RedRider1Me and Pitman should put our heads together on that one.....shouldnt be too difficult.
His site is chock full of stats and records....and I know a little about Orrville....I bet we could do a respectable job with it.
Good suggestion.
With all the local teams in it...that'd be a nice thing for the paper to do also. -
THE4RINGZOther than your own team's games, is anyone planning on attending other games in the Sectional? Are there any teams you really want to see play? I think it is nice that it is so close for some of us. I remember when I played in high school our sectional games were at Lorain High School. Always seemed like we played to an empty gym.
I guess I want to see the Big 4 play. Triway, Orrville, Northwestern, and Smithville. Not sure of the entire schedule yet, but I'll figure it out. -

Don't forget about Hillsdale, the potential WCAL champs. And I will be attending ALL the district games.THE4RINGZ wrote: Other than your own team's games, is anyone planning on attending other games in the Sectional? THE4RINGZOK and Hillsdale. I keep forgetting about them.

thePITmanRedRider1, I just sent you my preview/overview of each team. Now I am working on my bracket predictions, and I'll get them to you as soon as I'm finished. I'm assuming you'll post our district tournament preview on your blog?
-
thePITmanInteresting, the4ringz. I just completed my bracket predictions, and my final 4 are the same as your "Big 4". Haha!
Wow, I think I spent way too much time on that. The two emails I just sent to RedRider1 for our co-authored preview were 1,636 words (team-by-team preview) and 1,674 words (predictions) respectively. Tired! Time for bed. -
THE4RINGZThanks for your hard work and dedication Pitman. Your work on items like this allow people like me to continue to be lazy.
So............LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
RedRider1Part 1 of the District preview is up....Thanks Pitman for taking the ball and running with it.

THE4RINGZRR1 thanks for putting that on your blog. Of course, like alot of us around here, I was very unfamiliar with a few of the teams in the Sectional. Thank you for consistantly providing us Wayne County fans with the latest information.
-
RedRider1Thanks go to Pitman for taking the time to write it.
I'm just the plate the food gets served on.... -
Old RiderThanks to Pitman and Red Rider for their work...!

Good stuff fellas... looking forward to see how the tourny unfolds. My upset special pick is Tuslaw over Northwestern.thePITman wrote: RedRider1 has posted Part 2 on his blog. A must-read, especially the conclusion. Haha! I can't wait for Monday.

RedRider1Orrville fans wouldn't mind seeing that AT ALL.
Waynedale can go ahead and beat Triway too. -
thePITmanBlack River 71
Norwayne 46
Black River came out of the gates hot and didn't let up. It didn't help that Norwayne committed 30 turnovers on the night which turned into 30 Black River points, including 18 turnovers for 20 points in the first half. There was just no way the Bobcats were going to win this game tonight.
Tuslaw was down 46-41 with over 2 minutes to go, and had the ball. But Waseity was called for a technical, and Northwestern went on to finish what ended up being a 20-1 run in the 4th quarter. Tuslaw made some desperation 3's late in the 4th to make it close, but it was never in doubt after that last run by Northwestern, even though Tuslaw led in the 3rd and early 4th.
Northwestern 54
Tuslaw 49

RedRider1Sounds like Tuslaw had a chance...just like they did with E. Canton & Timken, but couldn't finish.
Tonight: Hillsdale vs Columbia.....Triway vs. Chippewa. Could be 2 bloodbaths.
