Whitmer at Findlay. Key game for both teams.

ross ford81Whitmer travels to Findlay tonight for a key game for both teams -- non-league so some will say why? Findlay must win or it is very unlikely to get the #2 seed in the D-I sectional, even though the Trojans beat BG earlier this year. Whitmer is in a similar boat in the Toledo sectional where 1 more loss will hurt them in the post-season. Findlay might have the edge at home but the Panthers are playing better lately.

Swamp FoxI think this game is more important for Whitmer in that they are very young and they need more affirmation of their potential. Some big City Games coming up for the Panthers and this win would give them loads of confidence. Findlay is more of a veteran team that has been here before and can bounce back. Plus I picked Whitmer to be in the final four this season and so I have selfish reasons for a Whitmer victory.

ross ford81Pretty ugly game. Findlay up 10-4 after the first period but Whitmer ultimately prevails, 49-42.

hookshotKind of surprised at this outcome but Findlay seems to be off a little right now and Whitmer is finding a way to win as I think their only loss in the last 9 games was an upset to Bowsher. Ross, doesn't Findlay go something like 6-9 and 6-7 underneath so which team won the rebounding battle? Looking at the rest of Findlay's schedule, I think they can win out to go 13-7.

erie warriorGame was close until the 4th quarter when Whitmer hit 3 3's. Findlay had poor foul shooting in 4th. Good game with Findlay leading until 4 minutes left in game. Findlay played tough defense and gave a great effort but Whitmer wore them down. Findlay now 8-7

Swamp FoxThe Panthers are gaining momentum and confidence with every win. I'm really liking this young team more and more. They just may be able to hang with the big boys and earn that Final Four status. You know what they say. If you want to win a City Championship, you've got to make the Final Four first.. Not to mention, you've got to beat those Johnnies, nor can you ignore St. Francis, and Central. Start and Rogers and LIbbey and Waite are also waiting in the wings. What a great year!!!!
