SHADYSIDE 14-0

is this the year shadyside can finally make it past districts or will it be like years past and bomb?

I am assuming they will run into Hiland at districts, so I doubt it, but that is a long ways off.

With Hiland, Malvern, and Wellsville, this will be a tough district. Shadyside has a very good team, but you never know what might happen come tournament time.

Wellsville is no longer in this district.

I got to take in the Rosecrans at Shadyside game last week. The first half was pretty lethargic but the Tigers played well in the 2nd half. Why are there never any programs at Shadyside? Do they actually make programs for the basketball season? I have been there 4 years in a row (at different times of the season) and there aren't any available. The visitors have a roster that has been copied sitting on the 50/50 table but no programs. Just wondering. Are their players and numbers top secret? :D

apparently that's only information on a need-to-know basis. But I've wondered that myself--why can't the home team put out a program that includes a roster with an up t0 date "scorecard" if you wil, for those of us like that to keep score. had a program recently where the score card had only 1's and 2's to cross off--no 3's (for three point shots). I think the three pointer has been around long enough now that maybe it could be added?

Shadyside has a strong basketball tradition someone said you keep pounding the door it will eventially open. I am sure nobody will look past them come tournament time.

not sure why there are not any programs anymore. there use to be programs with the capability to keep players score along with a few ads. basketball parents were in charge of these. coach andes has final say on how money is spent. maybe he dont want money spent on 'em. as far as sneakin up on anyone, i doubt it. these boys have been playing well together for several years now. just seems we do really well regular season and then falter in the districts.

I love programs. All those 5'7 kids get listed at 5'10 and all those 6' nothing kids become 6' something.

Kinda like the stat book. You can't fudge points but there was recently a game that was reported in one paper with the home team book and another paper with the visiting team's book. Coach's kid had 12 rebounds in the one paper and 7 in the other. A little discrepancy there, isn't there?

Shady might benefit by playing stronger non-conference opponents to get them over the district hump. A December loss to a strong program is better than a March loss - to anyone.

    Quick story...

Back in the day (1995), my mom did the finalizing on our school's program(Lakeland). Anyhow, I had her change my height from 6'1" to 5'9"....just to be different.
  • TMajic
Pariah, which game might that be? :D

As for the program and heights, I agree too many are fudged and I find those irrelevant. But, I like to put a name with a number.

now that its being mentioned, back in the day in football i was listed as 5'10" 180 lbs. and in basketball it was 6'1" 165 lbs. hmmmmm...anywho after the way we played last night(46-43 win over shenandoah) looks like we're regressing instead of progressing. i guess time will tell.

TMAJIC so what do u think of Shadyside, can any of the top dogs from IVC play with them. i'm braging but if u want atop notch basketball program then go to one of the Hiland home games, that program has more info in it about Hiland basketball then u can imagine. i'm sure tjmajic can atest to that. Hornets sound like they had wild game last night. And now for the Hawks, did the Cleve.Bendictine game that they lost last sat night hurt them for then it help them, because last night Hawks took a downword spiral last big time, did not play any man to man defense at all, i think a younger team like Hiland mite have just lost some of there confidence and there mojo. from that lost last sat.night. when doubt starts to set in, then players start to think maybe were not as good as we think we are. I'm taking anything away from TCC they played agreat game, but when a team that is only avgering around 56 points a game in the IVC, how can we give up 71 points last night. we better right the ship real quick because Strasburg is waiting this fri. and it sound like they are on a roll and the Hawks donot play good on that floor.

My oldest son is 5 10 and a half but he says his basketball roster heighth is 6'2'.

buckcc, the Tigers are still as athletic as always. They play their motion offense very very well and utilize their quickness and speed to their advantage. Like past years, they rely heavily on the 3, and that hurt them in the first half vs Rosecrans last week. They just were not falling. They are very good, and will be a good match in the districts. The IVC is pretty balanced this year. Hiland is very good (not as good as last year), TCC just blew out Hiland and are senior oriented, Strasburg has struggled, and Malvern hit a bad stretch a few weeks back. I think Shadyside matches up comparatively with all 4.

It wasn't a male player if that helps you!

But while we are on the subject, Tyler was a fantastic player, but there were a couple of assist and rebound numbers by his name that were questioned by some. :)

If I were in the game program there would be a lot of hair on the head, I'd be at least 6 feet tall and weigh about 175.
