Week #5 NLL Basketball Standings. Week #6 Games also included!

Swamp FoxCongratulations to rmolin73 and thechosenone for sharing best sheet honors for Week #5. Both pollsters scored 11 out of 14 to outdo several others who recorded 10. Additional kudos go out to rmolin73 because of his excellent score he now is the sole leader in our contest. Although there is still a close race going on, some slight separation is starting to appear.
Here are the official results heading into week #6.....................

Swamp Fox -
phbobcatTuesday, January 5th Games
Northview over Anthony Wayne -- Going with home team
Bowling Green over Springfield -- Going out on a limb due to Sfield's weaker schedule to date
Southview over Rossford -- Jump getting his team warmed up
Perrysburg over Maumee -- Chuck and Matt Show
Friday, January 8th Game
Cleveland St. Ignatius over Perrysburg -- Edge to home team
Saturday, January 9th Games
Southview over Waite -- See SV comment above
Rossford over Fostoria -- Down year for Fostoria
Ottawa Glandorf over BG -- Go early for Red Pig Inn ribs (and a seat at the game)
Clay over Anthony Wayne -- AW looking at 0-21 this year??
Fremont Ross over Maumee -- Tossup -
Swamp FoxI definitely second the early arrival in Ottawa. I've been to the Red Pig Inn more than once and it's really good!! You are definitely correct about getting a seat for the game as well. The earlier, the better.
-
hookshotWill tickets be on sale during the week for the BG-OG game? If not, what time must you arrive to get a seat?
-
hookshotTUESDAY:
-Northview over AW by 2. Would like to call it a tie but I guess someone has to win this one.
-BG over Springfield by 10. McFadden shoots 34 times trying to outscore Orr. Bobcats more balanced and Devils don't cover the 3-ball.
-Southview over Rossford by 12. Cougars wish they could start the season all over again. Playing well right now.
-Perrysburg over Maumee by 27. Or more. Jackets have had two relatively important injuries so far this season. Can't afford many more.
FRIDAY:
-St. Ignatius over Perrysburg by 4. Jackets make it close on the road, but just not quite strong enough to get the win.
SATURDAY:
-Southview over Waite by 5. If Indians play to potential this could easily go the other way. Chemistry issues still hurting Waite.
-Rossford over Fostoria by 8. Bulldogs find the non-league schedule a little easier than the NLL.
-BG over Ottawa-Glandorf by 5. Bobcats have significant size and experience advantages but they'll be on trial at the Supreme Court.
-Clay over AW by 1. Generals almost win this one and are destined to find a "W" in the near future.
-Fremont Ross over Maumee by 9. Just hard for me to pick Panthers against hardly anyone anymore this season. Little Giants just a little better. -

ross ford81Jan.5:
**AW by 3 over Northview. Generals have to win one some time this year and the Wildcats are a reasonable victim.
**BG by 14 over Springfield. Bobcats just have too many players who can get hot to allow the limited Blue Devils a win.
**Southview by 11 over Rossford. Bulldogs could win but it will take one of their best efforts of the season.
**Perrysburg by 35 over Maumee. Panthers might not even show up for this rivalry game. Will I ever eat crow if I'm wrong on this one!
Jan.8:
**St. Ignatius by 7 over Perrysburg. Tough road game for the Yellow Jackets -- I'd reverse the margin if the game was at Perrysburg.
Jan. 9:
**Southview by 1 over Waite (OT). Depends on which Waite team shows up. Indians just not reaching their potential so far.
**Rossford by 5 over Fostoria. Not necessarily and easy game for the Bulldogs but they should have enough to win.
**O-G by 9 over BG. Bobcats ought to be able to figure out a way to win this one but BG guard play against pressure is not a strong suit to be polite.
**Clay by 9 over AW. Since I already picked AW once this week they can't win two in a row, can they?
**Fremont Ross by 4 over Maumee. Ross is not a very strong team but just enough better than Maumee to win a close one. -
Swamp FoxTuesday, January 5th Games
Anthony Wayne OVER Northview by 5. ( Loser here gets top draft pick. AW breaks through!!!)
Bowling Green OVER Springfield by 10 ( Too much Bobcat balance for the Blue Devils.)**2 Points
Southview OVER Rossford by 8. (This game is a huge trap game for the Cougars. Cougars better.)
Perrysburg OVER Maumee by 16 (Traditional rivalry? Not so much this season. Ouch!)
Friday, January 8th Game
Cleveland St. Ignatius OVER Perrysburg by 5 (I will not be surprised if the Jackets win this one.)
Saturday, January 9th Games
Southview OVER Toledo Waite by 6 (If the Cougars can win at St, Johns, they should win this one.)
Rossford OVER Fostoria by 10 (Rossford will win from the perimeter.)
Bowling Green OVER Ottawa Glandorf (by 1)....unless BG turns it over against the Titan pressure.
Oregon Clay OVER Anthony Wayne (by 1)....AW may get two in a row but Clay is not terrible.
Fremont Ross OVER Maumee by 4. Coach Gedeon gets the job done.
These are subject to change, but probably not.... -

ross ford81Warthog, don't you see AW winning any this year? Can't they find a way to win at least one this week? Also, you have BG losing both games this week. If that happens, watch the morale on the team be impacted significantly.
-
Swamp FoxI would definitely agree with ross ford81 in his analysis of Bowling Green. They have to keep the hammer down and play with confidence. They need to be on their toes, not back on their heels. Both of these opponents are physical teams that will be in your face. BG must match that type of play.

And I think I have missed almost every BG game this year. I have no idea what to expect from them. This way I at least get the points here if they lose. But I would rather see them win. Seriously, they turn the ball over way too much and teams that play solid defense are going to be a handful for them. -

rmolin73Are you aware that Waite only has wins over Scott and Grove City Central Crossing? But anyways......you are probably the only person in Toledo that thinks that Maumee isn't going to be blown out by Perrysburg.
-
ross ford81If NLLBest is right about Maumee beating Perrysburg, he'll look like a genius. If Perrysburg wins easily (which is 98% assured) then he can just say he wasn't serious. Good strategy.

Perrysburg over Maumee by a Zillion (Maumee could be the one W for AW)

Southview over Waite by 6 (If Waite can't beat Maumee or Fremont Ross....)
Fostoria over Rossford by 5 (Bulldogs will stumble here in a bit of an upset)
Bowling Green over Ottawa Glandorf by 7 (Bobcats have won 3 of last 4 against O-G, make it 4 of 5)
