Wayne County Basketball

FlashThe season is upon us. Orrville will be similar to last year. Lost Workinger, Landis, Simms and Wright but should have a true point guard this year. Will we have enough to run up and down and be competitive is to be seen. Chippewa should be good and I'm not sure who Smithville has coming back but they are always coached well. Triway may be slightly better if Skeens plays.
-
FlashPretty dead thread. The tournament is coming up and the Chipps should be favored but, Tuslaw, Orrville and CCC lie in the wings and may be able to cause some trouble for the Chipps. The Chipps only beat the Crusaders by 7 in their first match up.
-
Old RiderGood luck to the Lady Riders tonight vs. Manchester and my favorite coach...Tucker Pappas.
-
FlashHe has had his troubles beating Wayne County schools the last few years. He jumped to play us early so he may have something up his sleeve. But we have the X factor.
-
Old RiderGood win Lady Riders!
-
HitsRusLet 'a go Chipps!
-
Old RiderOrrville vs Chippewa for the district title. Should be another great game!
-
RedRider1Chippewa's Richards girl is the daughter of an Orrville alum (Jennifer Musser) correct?
See, all it takes is a little Red Rider blood up there in Chipp country.
Hope it's a dandy tomorrow. -

That is correct...but I think there is a Richards and Richardson on the team so don't get confused.RedRider1;1710531 wrote:Chippewa's Richards girl is the daughter of an Orrville alum (Jennifer Musser) correct?

HitsRusChipps advance to regionals, nipping Orrville 48-46.
-
rrfanWas a great game Riders played well. Young group so they should be planning on making a run next year. Would love to see the Richards girl move to Orrville...LOL
-
HitsRusWhy would she want to?
-
rrfan
She would not want to it is the Rider fans that would love her too. Come on we can dream can't we? Her mom is a state champ at Orrville that is the connection. There is zero percent chance of her coming here it was just a statement that she would be a nice fit.HitsRus;1711245 wrote:Why would she want to? -
Old RiderChippewa will cruise thru the regional....they should anyhow. Tough loss for the Riders. Very winnable game! I would expect the same match-up next year in the tournament!
-
FlashHits, who is Chippewa losing? Any Seniors? Not sure if any freshman can help us. Too, bad the freshman next year weren't a year closer to this class.
-
rrfan
I agree with you on that...Chippewa is losing there big girl...I think Richardson. She will be missed but they are going to be very good anyway.Flash;1712124 wrote:Hits, who is Chippewa losing? I also agree with wishing next years freshman were a year closer to the Jr. Class.
I think there are two girls that could help next year on varsity from that incoming freshman class...but it is a big step and only time will tell. -
Old Rider
If I were Alberts I would keep that incoming frosh class together as long as he can. Play a full freshman schedule and leave them together.rrfan;1712269 wrote:I agree with you on that...Chippewa is losing there big girl...I think Richardson. I would too but hard to not shoot for the stars when you have McDuffie and Hall for one more year....Old Rider;1712343 wrote:If I were Alberts I would keep that incoming frosh class together as long as he can. Play a full freshman schedule and leave them together. -
Old RiderSome of those girls that played JV last year might want to consider hanging up the sneakers for good. Many will be stuck playing JV again if they want to see any time and the incoming frosh class may have several girls trying to see time on the JV team as well. Good problem to have with numbers and incoming talent.

FlashSpeaking of wishing we had players with an Orrville connection, Neuenswander's Dad from Fairless who is 6' 11 was from Orrville. Now that would of helped.
-
Old Rider
I have seen him play...I would take Amir! Can't teach 6'11, but he is not very physical and has been injury prone.Flash;1712570 wrote:Speaking of wishing we had players with an Orrville connection, Neuenswander's Dad from Fairless who is 6' 11 was from Orrville. Now that would of helped. -
HitsRusChipps dismantle South Range in the regional semis....will play Garrettsville for the state berth....
No such luck Red Rider fans....Richardson is a junior. Chipps are losing senior starting point guard, Megan Storad, but their top 3 scorers are returning.I agree with you on that...Chippewa is losing there big girl...I think Richardson. She will be missed but they are going to be very good anyway -
