Triway (8-0) vs Hiland (4-0) Jan. 2
-
majorsparkShould be a good game. Triway playing twice as many games should help them. Hiland needs to get their wheels screwed on tight. They were a little wobbly the last couple of games. What does everyone else think?
Bought a couple of presale tickets. Should I need more, will they be available at the door? -
M PlantNot sure on ticket availability, Spark ... all I know is that my first assignment of 2010 is a great one, so I'll be there. Very anxious to see Mr. Kaufman play again. Triway is really playing good ball right now, so this will be a very interesting matchup.

ricolaHiland will need to play better than they have their last couple games to win this one.

PariahThat Buckeye Local performance by the Hawks was dull as dishwater. The players weren't into it, the fans weren't into it. Christmas hangover? I didn't think Mennonites imbibbed - at least excessively. Noah Boyd though had his best all around performance on both ends. Very impressed with how he battled the 6'7" horse they had.
Dylan only had 7 points. A source close to the investigation told me that he got his license Tuesday, and that was the most exciting thing on his agenda!
A trip to the Pit is always a challenge and interesting. Hope both teams play well and the Hawks come out on top. -
ricolaI heard hiland had "one of those" practices yesterday. 4 of 14 from the free throw line (among other things) will tend to bring those on. If we can play a good 32 minutes (and make some shots and free throws) i like our chances, but haven't seen that yet.

thePITmanGood luck, Titans!

I see the Hawks in in good close game. Don't see them playing well enough lately to win this one by a big margin.thePITman wrote: Good luck, Titans! -
HesstonHawks will certainly have to play better than they did Tue. night, I'm sure they will should be a good close game. I'll give the nod to Triway though.

Lucky_leroyshould be a wildy siting-make sure he's invited over to the free side for his always incitful analysis!

zhon44622This should be an exciting game.

Mr. 300Talked with a Buckeye Local fan on Wednesday. He said the kid that guarded Dylan and shut him down is one of the quickest and best athletes in the valley. They knew Dylan hadn't seen anyone with that kind of quickness, and might be taken out of the game. He was.
Now, I see the Hawks winning this game. All teams stub their toes in a season, and we know Mark will make sure they are prepared for this match-up. Home court gets the nod. -
september63Hiland wins this one. Their coach wont settle for lackluster play 2 games in a row!!
-
newarkcatholicfanI dislike when two teams I like battle each other with that being said I hope Hiland can pull this one out.
-
GymshoeJust have a feeling that Triway is gonna win this one.
58-53. -
thePITmanThis will be BY FAR our toughest opponent of the season. Talented and disciplined/well coached. We have yet to play a really good team, IMO. We've played down to our competition, and have played "up" to the tougher teams on our schedule. We don't know how good we can really be if we play our best against a good team. Hiland will be a REAL gauge of where we are at as a team this year. This is one of the 3 games I'm having to miss this season, and it stinks!
Good luck Titans! -
M PlantWhat???? no stats?????
-
Mr. RussellI have a hunch Triway is going to win this game...I am very impressed with their team and I like them as a favorite in the Wooster district even with Orrville and Smithville, as well as a Wellington team playing well.
With that being said, I'll be at the Smithville/Northwestern game which has county title implications already.
Hopefully everybody enjoys the game at The Pit! -
sports_talkHas Triway played anyone yet is the question?

Pariah300, Dylan didn't see anyone with "that kind of quickness" while playing with CBiz this summer? I think your friend from BL has been drinking and/or smoking something. I was there too. He didn't hit outside shots. Plain and simple. Didn't drive to the basket much. Just didn't seem into it. He's fine. Hiland had control of the game throughout. If they needed him, he would have probably found it.
That kid was a nice athlete, but nothing way out of the ordinary.
Hiland's recent alumni have been coming in over the holidays and beating the brown out of them in practice. Hopefully it has toughened them up for a tough stretch ahead. -
wes_mantoothIs this game on the net? Is Lonsinger(sp?) still doing all of Hiland's games?
-
Mr. 300
Yeah, he was a little bit biased in his reporting of the game. I had to laugh inside just a bit.Pariah wrote: 300, Dylan didn't see anyone with "that kind of quickness" while playing with CBiz this summer? Good luck Hawks. Kick some purple ass tonight. -

HesstonI don't know much about the Titans, are they mostly seniors? Young? Uptempo? Big?
Hiland is young, this is the first road game, how will that affect the game if at all. -
majorspark
Seniors and juniors no one younger. They have a 6'5" and a 6'6" player. Not sure on their depth. I have not seen them play yet this year so I would anticipate a typical Triway team. Well coached, disciplined, solid defensively, and would play up tempo. Maybe someone who has seen them play a couple of times this year could fill in some more details for you.Hesston wrote: I don't know much about the Titans, are they mostly seniors? Young? Uptempo?
