ferflogFellow basketball fans:
I am excited to announce that once again the Division 4 District Final Boys Basketball Game at Meadowbrook High School is SOLD OUT. Meadowbrook High School will NOT be selling tickets at the door. All tickets will be sold by the schools playing in the game. Please contact them to obtain tickets. Also, the only passes that will be accepted at the pass gate will be the green Eastern District issued administrator passes. All Eastern District head coaches and ONE guest will be admitted through the pass gate as well. If you plan on using these passes please contact the tournament director at Meadowbrook High School in advance. It is imperative that if you plan to use your pass that you call in advance in order for the host site to remain in compliance with all State and Federal Fire Marshall guidelines. There will be no exceptions!! Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter and good luck to all participants.
Yours in Hoops,
Adam M. Pittis
Tournament Director

ricolaAnd for all of you that DO have tickets to the game, please be there at 10am to secure your place in line, and assure yourself a seat in the gym, because those at the end of the line---ticket or not---will NOT find a seat! (The Eastern District outdoes itself again!)

wes_mantoothyeah, I think we have this debate ever year. I personally would rather see this game played at Muskingham...it seemed bigger. But, I think the numbers are actually about the same.
I think the main problem last year was the greed...they sold way too many tickets and then just stuffed everyone in there. I personally don't think they should hold districts, I don't think Coshocton should hold D2 districts and New Phila shouldn't hold any tournament games. -

Just out of curiosity, how small is this place?ricola;1109273 wrote:And for all of you that DO have tickets to the game, please be there at 10am to secure your place in line, and assure yourself a seat in the gym, because those at the end of the line---ticket or not---will NOT find a seat! The DIV final in my hometown pitting Mogadore vs. Wellsville will be lucky to fill the 3,200 seats.
Just wondering, because with the talent and traditions of the schools that are playing at Meadowbrook, you'd think they'd move it. Many years ago, in the Lebron days, many tournament games were moved. Example: Springfield Local vs StVM was moved from 3,000 seat Cabas gym in Salem to Youngstown State's Beeghley Center. I believe they filled Beeghley to over 7,000 fans.
To pack a gym like a sardine can doesn't seem fair to the fans. Maybe there's a shortage of large gyms in your area. JMO.

ricola^^ You make way too much sense. You must not be from the Eastern District!..
Not sure exactly what the place holds (a lot less than the tickets that were sold last year, I'll tell you that). Quite sure considerably less than 3200. Admittedly, I am not familiar with what other larger venues would be an option for a game like this. But if they were available am quite certain you'd bring in considerably more people. I know of several people (e.g. wes above) who are not even attempting to go because they don't want to be a sardine.
Meadowbrook works well for the majority of games held there, but NOT for high profile games like this. -
Hesstonya the eastern district is as flexible as the ncaa ....... well maybe a little less

Struthers FanTo anyone who went, was is a sardine can? Judging by the OT and the score, it looks like it was one hell of a game.

dokkenActually, I was expecting a lot worse. Seating capacity is pretty big for a high school. Great atmosphere. Filled to rafters, many media people. Parking isn't bad. We were actually thinking where a better place in Eastern District would be? Kind of old school, brought choir in for national anthem, but neat. Food/ drink vendors in aisles.
