Thedemoralizer picks Rittman and Bobcats2012 picks Norwayne. I am shocked.

Hillsdale returns 7 starters and their top 4 pitchers. I gotta think they will be in the mix.

    Madman or Demoralizer-

Is the kid with the nasty drop curve back again? or did he graduate?

    I can't remember his last name.....Lance ______? I think.
  • 44Husker44
Lance Horner-SR. Signed with Youngstown State.Reigning WCAL MVP !
  • Mr. 300
Northwestern has a great group of athletes in their sophomore class that were excellent baseball players. Nolletti was hurt last year when WH played them (jv game) and we spanked 'em pretty good. Are those kids still playing ball?

    Thanks Husker,
I always seem to forget his name.
As a Husky fan, I can't say I'm upset that he graduated. Hope he does well at the next level though.

    Nah, they all quit.

getting spanked in a jv game by WH has left most of them listless and re-evaluating their purposes in life.

Lance did NOT graduate. He is a sr. this yr.
  • Red Rum
    Well, that changes everything

as a husky fan, I'm upset he's back!!!!!
    :D
  • Mr. 300
Red, I understand. We've humiliated quite a few athletes over the years, especially the WCAL ones....Lulz

hopefully with the new coach at dalton we keep kids out more then 2 yrs! dalton going to be young, but the future does look good if the kids stay !

Rittman has lost to many kids to be at the top you dont lose 6 or 7 full time starters and come back the next year and be a force even if horners back the way I see it 1 Hillsdale 2Norwayne 3Northwestern 4Rittman 5Waynedale 6Chippewa 7Smithville 8Dalton but I think the middle 3 could go either way

Who are the top players for each team????

I'm going to disagree somewhat. If Horner's back, Rittman can win any big game it wants to....but from a practical standpoint, he can't pitch everyday so if the games back up, they'll lose a few. I don't see them less than 3rd.
A team can lose a lot of players and still be a force if the organization is good. The Chipps dominated the league in the late '90's and early '00s...they would just reload every year. The same is true with Hillsdale softball...they've dominated not only the league but the whole the district for 15 years at least.

    Tuslaw 1
    Norwayne 0

I saw the Rittman/Northwestern game and all I can say is...

hats off to Horner. After a bit of a wild start he was lights out whiffing 13 and giving up 1 hit in a 4-0 victory.

well, I guess I'll say a little more

Rittman isn't as strong as last year but their young guys are no slouches, they have talent and play solid defense. I'm not sure they can repeat as WCAL champions but they are capable of beating just about anybody when Horners on the mound.

as for Northwestern, I think they're a top 4 WCAL team.
Then again, if they don't start fielding alot better and hitting a little better, they may end up in the botton half of the league.

Rittman beats Norwayne 6-3. Horner had 14 k's but was 0-4 at the plate

I've wondered this as well. Horner seems to throw alot of pitches with a bunch of them being curveballs. Some arms can handle that, hopefully his can.

The kid is an excellent hitter as well. Anybody know if he's being recruited at YSU to pitch or be a position player?

he is being recruited as a pitcher and a pitcher only.

A properly thrown curve ball is easy on the arm...it's the sliders that are arm killers.

    opinions vary...

    anyway,
