Struthers Basketball 2011-2012

  • Ohio
The erie strong vincent game will be huge for struthers to see if they can match their athletic ability that they will need if they want to make it to the second game in canton.
  • Ohio
impressive win tonight at home against howland jacubec with 29
  • BTrev
Does anyone know what the conference standings look like?

Struthers has to be all alone at the top... they're the only team left with an undefeated conference record.
  • BTrev
    Struthers 8-0, 10-3
    Howland 5-2, 7-5
    Poland 4-3, 6-4
    Fitch 3-3, 5-6

Those standings arn't correct, only friday night games against league opponents count for their conference record as awkward as that sounds, howland with their second loss to struthers but only one of them counted as a conference game. I know that might seem odd to you but Coach J and DJ was explaining it to me the other day.Struthers is still the only team without a blemish.
  • BTrev
    That's weird.

    Jason Martin and D.J. Aldish?
  • Ohio
yes. i also thought it was weird they said it has something to do with making the league more competetive, with bigger schools in the upper tier playing the bigger schools in the top more and the smaller teams less, still play em twice only one counts tho. Every friday night game in league counts everything else is slated as a non conference matchup
  • BTrev
    Hmmm...

I was wondering why the girls only play Howland once, and everyone else in the conference twice.
  • BTrev
    Struthers: 67
    Beaver Local: 59

    2 to go. Go Cats!

Struthers SHOULD be undefeated right now, but they're rolling. Hopefully they bring district home this year! GO CATS!!
  • BTrev
I'm glad they had to deal with that adversity early on. It made them a better team. The loss to Strong Vincent was legit... but they never should have lost to Lakeview (even without Jacubec) or Salem.

I'm sure they're more focused on winning the next 2, and capturing the AAC: American Division Championship... with an undefeated conference record.

Eyes on the prize... then focus on the tournemant and another District Championship.

    win over CMHS tonight. Big
  • BTrev
    57-44.

Considering the current state of Campbell Basketball... and since Struthers beat them by 19 earlier this season... it's really not that big of a win.

The only big win that's left on the table, before the tournemant... is Poland next Friday.
  • Ohio
S/O to Jake Jacubec for surpassing 1,000 career points last night pouring in 39 points in a win over Niles, also they clinched their 3rd straight outright AAC championship. Go Cats

I saw that. I didn't want to sound hypocritical, saying that they need to focus and finish the regular season... and then days later, talking about the tournemant.

    So I laid off.

I figured that you or Ohio would post about it though, Spread. You didn't disappoint.

Glancing at the bracket... a potential rematch against Lakeview in the District Semis would be interesting.

    Go Cats!

People tend to forget that lakeview game, sapp had 4 fouls early in the third, and schmidt barely played due to a messed up shoulder, sophomores played that entire game basically and lost by 2

    They lost by 3... 61-58.

The bright spot to take away from a loss like that... they were down by 20 at halftime. The underclassmen showed a lot of fight in that one, to make it a game again down the stretch.

If the two teams were to play again, I think the outcome would be much different.

    Go Cats!
    Beat Poland!

We need to regroup after the tough loss to Poland and take it to Liberty. This is a nice tune-up game just before the sectionals.

Good luck Cats against Liberty. Let's start playing the way you know how to. Execute, and play aggressive.

Beat the Leopards on their home court. I am sure the Struthers fans will be en masse and hopefully loud as hell. We're gonna need em

    Give 'em hell, Wildcats!

I know they play the winner of Mooney and Hubbard, on Wednesday.

Any prediction who they'll have to play? Any preference?

I'd prefer Mooney... and I think that's who they'll get.
  • Ohio
I would rather them play hubbard, Mooney having a much better SOS but we will take who we get.

Mooney vs St.Ruthers! Go cats! Knock them out.. AGAIN
