Wills placed 5th with a 15:18. He was with the lead pack until about 400 left.

Michael Brajdic ran an impressive race, finishing 27th with a time of 15:43.

Also congrats to Mags for being 5th best team in the nation.

Any thoughts on Wills' race? Did the "conservative" pace hurt him? Was he favored to win? A 15:18 is something to be very proud of, but I would think after cruising through the entire regular season he would be fresh for this race. I guess this kid is so good that the expectations are sometimes too high.

I would love to hear from them now. THat and go measure that course in Indiana where he ran a 14:50. Probably not a legit course.
I watched the race online Sunday. If you haven't, I suggest that you do.
It was two and one half laps around with hay bales and whoop ti do's and mud and water. It was not the dry flat school yard that he ran in Indiana. TWO DIFFERENT TYPE COURSES and MANY GREAT HIGH SCHOOL RUNNERS. He was in the lead pack and when the finish kick started he didn't.
I was at Terra Haute, Indiana for the NXN Midwest Regionals when he won and he ran a really nice race.
