No other way to put it.
He was also the star QB, sounds like a well rounded, great kid. So tragic. Also, ESPN showed a picture of 2 girls in the stands(I'm assuming while it all was happening); it is a picture I will NEVER get out of my head. So sad. -

OQBVery sad indeed.....I watched the ESPN special that was on last week. I believe that team went on to the regionals in the tournament, not sure if they are still in it or not.
It's hard to see young athletes, families, and friends go through something like this. I remember back in I believe 2001 or 2002 when I was watching Orrville play Marion Harding at Orrville....Ryan Clark I believe was his name aka Tree because he was so tall. Coach Smitty sent in a sub for him during the third quarter....Tree walks down to find a seat on the bench and before he can sit down he falls flat on his face and is unresponsive....I was a few rows up from the bench and saw it first hand as an 11 or 12 year old boy, it was one of the scariest things I have ever witnessed in my life! Trainers rushed to him, nurses came down out of the stands from both schools, everyone was just sitting in disbelief and praying for the young man....that gym was so quiet you could here a pin drop. The squad arrived and were working on him but no response, everyone was told to evacuate the gym and the game would be finished at a later date. Thank God he survived and recovered from it. I will never forget that night at Orrville High School that's for sure! -
RedRider1Fennville won districts over the weekend. Wes Leonard's brother accepted the district trophy.
Talk about emotional.
