Is that your predicted seedings order? Hiland and Rosecrans in the district final, looks like the matchups to me.
  • ricola
I would guess the seedings would be close to that. Hiland/Rosecrans district final if Hiland can get past Malvern a 3rd time---a tall order.

Yes their is not much to change. Hiland and Rosecrans should meet but they could (depending on bracket placement) meet in the semi final. I see Hiland, Malvern, Rosecrans, and River in the district. Since the NP and UL sectional brackets cross in the district semi finals would be either Hiland/River, Hiland/Rosecrans in on and Malvern/River , Malvern/Rosecrans.

If it works out that Hiland and Rosecrans meet in the finals on Saturday at 1:00. AP#1 vs #2 get there early because it will be a sellout. A lot of people will want and have time to catch this game.

I am literally drooling over the thought of another Rosecran/Hiland District final.

I'm actually hoping for a Semi final match up :) I have school that day!

I see the parings going like this for NP:

    New Philadelphia - Bracket 1

    #1 Hiland (17-1)
    vs
#8 East Richland Christian (3-6) All I could find on their record
This will be a mismatch of monumental proportions.

    #6 Conotton Vally (5-12)
    vs
    #7 Toronto (2-13)

    New Philadelphia - Bracket 2

    #2 Malvern (13-4)
    vs
    #5 Strasburg (6-11)

    #3 Tuscarawas Central Catholic (9-8)
    vs
    #4 Stuebenville Catholic Central (8-10)
  • majorspark
I see the parings going like this for UL:

    Union Local - Bracket 1

    #1 Zanesville Rosecrans (18-0)
    vs
#8 Bellaire St. John Central (3-14)

    #6 Frontier (4-12)
    vs
    #7 Shadyside (1-16)

    Union Local - Bracket 2

    #2 River (12-6)
    vs
    #5 Caldwell (5-12)

    #3 Beallsville (11-6)
    vs
    #4 Bridgeport (8-9)

Hiland plays East Richland Christian Saturday 2/26 @ 6pm. Don't know rest of bracket. Would guess Spark's above game (CV vs Toronto) would follow @ 8, with the other 4 teams going at it thursday

Must be their 1st year in OHSAA tourney as I have never seen East Richland Christian, where are they from?
  • ricola
East Richland of course! sorry, being a smart a--. I have no idea. It is their first year of OHSAA eligibility, and I would guess Spark's comment above wouldn't be far from the truth. This could be a major mismatch.

St. Clairsville. It is their 1st year.

yeah...was just looking at that site . This game could be almost painful to watch

I was close on my seeding predictions. Interesting #5 Stuebenville Catholic Central and #6 Conotton Valley placed themselves in Hiland's bracket when they could have placed themselves in Malvern's.
  • riders1
Well I'll go out on the limb and "guess" a Hiland vs Rosecrans district final :)

On second thought. SCC and CV were trying to avoid near certain 1st round elimination. Their only choice was Malvern or the open bracket opposite Hiland.

Your out on a pretty thick limb.
  • ricola
interesting...assuming the top seeds win, Malvern will get first crack at Rosecrans. Not a gimme for the Bishops.

In 07 Hiland played a sectional game against some Christian school from that area down/over there. It was also their first year of ohsaa play. Hiland won something like 102-26 and that team was never heard from again!
  • wes_mantooth
^^I thought that was Hiland girls?

    eh, I am probably wrong.
  • riders1
    2007 Boys Hiland 101, E.Liverpool Christian 41

    2007 Girls Hiland 83 E.Liverpool Christian 12

Talk about throwing the Christians to the Lions ....er Hawks :)
  • ricola
about that plan to join the OHSAA.....uh, never mind....

I'm a bit fearful this year will be kinda like that...
