West Holmes vs Orrville
-
Mr. 300First round tonight in Orrville. This should be a dandy as both teams have rosters full of players. Game will come down to who's defense can shut down the big scorers. Wish I could be there to winess this one.

Mr. 300Lady Knights pull away for a 62-53 win on the road. Orrville was up 14-8 after 1 qtr, but the Knights tied it at 28 at half, then put it away in the second half. Congrats Knights on a huge win.

ricolacongrats Lady Knights.
(btw, 300; keeping you and yours in our prayers) -

Mr. 300Gosh, I can't believe how quiet out Orrville contingent is on this subject.
-
PariahImpressive. Can't wait to see these Lady Knights in person later in the year.
I listened thru the 3rd qtr. I think it was a 3 or 5 pt game at that point. Got distracted when I got home and forgot to see how it turned out. Mark of a good team is to win close games in the 4th qtr. -

The Orrville contingent does tend to talk a lot, but are always quiet after a loss. Especially so for the boys sports!Mr. 300;603894 wrote:Gosh, I can't believe how quiet out Orrville contingent is on this subject. -
FlashNot a lot to talk about when you get out played. Out hustled and out rebounded (50-26) that was the story. It was Wh's bigs vs our guard play and the Wh's guards were better than our bigs. I thought their guards shot well from the outside as did Snyder. It could go the other way the next time, but I think WH has to be the favorite for the conference after this game.
This isn't the boys football forum with a lot of talk win or lose. 300 and me have been doing most of the talking and its been informational rather than confrontational. -

Few care much about girls' sports in general. I didn't until my daughter began participating. After all the Title IX stuff and everything, it's just not possible to make people watch and support things they don't want to watch and support.
Friends tell me all the time that girls basketball is unwatchable. A lot of it is, but there are some good programs out there who provide quality play. I always tell them that their problem is that they are comparing the girls to the boys. It looks like the same game, but it is entirely different. The boys game is faster and played above the rim. The strength of the boys is also a major difference. The girls game, I argue, is a more pure form of basketball because it relies on execution more than the boys. You have to look at it as a different sport and appreciate it for what it is.
But the telling thing is revealed when I asked my daughter if she would rather go to a men's college game or a women's. She chose the men - said she likes the excitement and athleticism of the other side. And there it is. -
FlashCouldn't agree more. There's something about the girls battling it out that seems to be more for the competition . As boys high school sports mimic the pro's antics of chest pounding, I want to watch it less.

Mr. 300
Yeah, I'm sure those are the only reasons she chose it.......tee hee.Pariah;604260 wrote:. We really needed that win last night. It meant a lot. Now over to the COW to take on Hillsdale in what should be a really good game. -

Mr. 300Ooopsy, looks like Orrville is in a little funk after losing to WH.....Sr beats them today. Hearing some not so good things out of the Rider camp with attitudes towards certain relationships.
