Connotton Valley bows out of Inter Valley Conference
-
PariahI think we knew this was coming. I wish the Rockets well in the OVAC competing against schools more of their size and situation.
There are several upsides to this development: 1) I won't have to make that trip out there. I've never watched a competitive game there. I also just about froze to death there once - inside the school! 2) IVC teams will have 2 more games to play with. They can replace two non-competitive games with some quality opponents. 3) It gives the IVC an opportunity to replace or expand. I think we should bring in Nebraska. -
G_CallenIt looks like the IVC maybe at the end. some other schools being courted by other conferences.

IVC schools have been courted for decades and the IVC still exists today. I hardly think the departure of Conotton Valley spells its doom. -

I'm with major on this one. Yes, some schools are being talked to, but I've also heard mention of other schools JOINING the league... Until anything becomes official, you never know.
Pariah - will that be after this season? -

THE4RINGZWill Indian Valley join the IVC now?

PariahTusky Valley has been mentioned as a possible replacement.
Angel, Yes. Takes effect after the summer of 2011, so... one more trip out there... unless there is something really good on TV that night. -
ricolacame one year too late as far as I'm concerned, but that's okay. i think it was the right thing to do--for all concerned.
And i doubt as well the end of the IVC is imminent, but you never know.
And you're right Pariah...going to the mens room there in the middle of winter can cause frostbite. And competetive games there have been few and far between, but some years back it went to the wire with a Hawks win. -
majorsparkI think if the IVC were to add another team, Indian Valley and Tusky Valley would be front runners if they were interested. Both have past ties to the IVC. Both would be geographical fits. Tusky Valley in my opinion would be the better fit. A little better geographically and size wise they are basically the same size as Sandy Valley. They also have a rivalry with Sandy Valley.

THE4RINGZAs the fan of a PAC school I am rooting for IV not TV to join the IVC. I say this the week I will drive from Wooster to Midvale to watch a blow out football game.

PariahOn a side note: I got a text last night from another coach who said that Chad Bonifant resigned as coach at Strasburg. Not a surprise. It has some impact on the IVC this winter. Strasburg had become one of those programs that a team like Hiland had to play hard against to win. You wonder what that program will be like going forward. Word is one of the assistants will take over.

believerI can't see why Tusky Valley would move to the IVC except for geographical reasons. No offense to IVC fans but the PAC is simply a stronger conference.
HOWEVER if Tusky Valley, Indian Valley, Claymont, Coshocton, Ridgewood, Newcomerstown, Manchester, Garaway, Fairless, and Sandy Valley formed a conference then I'm all ears! -

Depends which sport you are talking about. Girls BB I would give the overall competitiveness to the PAC. Boys BB IVC gets the edge. Football I would lean to overall competitiveness to the PAC as well. Baseball hard to say.believer;507192 wrote:I can't see why Tusky Valley would move to the IVC except for geographical reasons. If Tusky Valley were to join the IVC today they would likely finish in the mid to upper half in each sport. With Conotton Valley leaving this would significantly change the overall competitiveness of the IVC. Minus two non competitive games.
