stationrunThursday May 27th through Saturday May 29th at Baldwin-Wallace College. Everything you want to know can be found at the meet web-site: http://www.bw.edu/athletics/10tracknationals/
Good Luck to the 6 B-W athletes that have qualified:
Greg Patrick (senior from Collins Western Reserve) in the shot put
Kevin Phipps (junior from Watkins Memorial) in both the discus & hammer
Steve Price (senior from North Olmsted) in the decathlon
Mitch Supan (freshman from Walsh Jesuit) in the discus
Kim Chinn (junior from Zanesville West Muskingum) in the steeplechase
D'Arcy Hlavin (senior from Berea) in the 1500
Interesting little tidbit on D'arcy Hlavin, her home track since she started competing in high school has always been the B-W track as that is Berea's home track as well.
Good Luck to all who qualified!! -
stationrunNice article on B-W Coach Taraschke in today's Plain Dealer: http://www.cleveland.com/sports/college/index.ssf/....
Yesterday was a hot one on the track, 86 when I got there at 4pm, so hot in fact that they smartly delayed the 10K for an hour in order to run it in cooler temperatures. Today looks much better heat wise with a high of "only" 80. Heading out shortly as I'm volunteering on the hurdle crew today & tomorrow.
Congrats to B-W hammer thrower Kevin Phipps for his All-American finish yesterday (6th)!! -
stationrunHmmmm looks like I'm talking to myself again, lol. Great day for a meet with much better weather then yesterday. I was out on the track all afternoon so I got a pretty good sunburn, but it was well worth it.
Two big thrills for me today; meeting and talking to the great Harrison Dillard (a B-W grad) and watching Kim Chinn from B-W running a school record 10:30 in the steeplechase and taking 2nd!! This is Kim's first year of running the steeple which makes that All-American finish even more impressive IMO!
Also congrats to B-W's Greg Patrick for his All-American 7th place finish in the shot put!
