Nobody wants that, but if the site is to continue, SOMETHING has to return the site to profitability.

I see a difference. But the direction you are taking it, it will be the huddle in no time. I mean hell, you had 3 of the top 20 posters on this site banned and one of them didn't even deserve the ban. He just somehow wound up on the ban list.
  • DeyDurkie5
and for the record, you obviously have to make a profit. I'm just saying, in general, that you are trying to make it more like the huddle to make money. yes?

As such, the ban was nixed, and the infraction was removed from his account's history.

The Huddle would have never done that, as I can personally attest.

At least until the revenue starts coming in, is what it sounds like.

Having been in the discussion about this, it sounds like he's just trying to do two things:

    a) pay for its own costs, and
    b) make it worth the time and headache to deal with the fucknuts on here.

If you get enough marketing and advertising to get the site full of traffic during the high school season, your profit alone from advertising during that time should be able to cover the downtime that would accompany this site. High School football is a gold mine, you just knew to find a way to get this site out there in the open to everyone.

That's a true statement. A perfect example of that is the Halloween costume niche. Over 90% of their annual revenue is typically earned in a single month.

The key is to ensure that this site would earn enough during the 3-4 months of football season to sustain most of it over the year (with some basketball and such incorporated as well, for when football is out of season, though the other HS forums don't get nearly the same volume during their seasons). I don't think you're going to do that with the proportion of page views in the football forum and AdSense.

It'd be nice, but it's never been realistic for this site, given the numbers we've had to work with.

But again, it's a good idea if it can be implemented.

    Pertinent article:

Aaron Greenspan (CEO of Think) just sued Google over their closing his account with funds still due him, and he won.

Look I want Justin to make money. I don't have a problem with him trying to cash in on his investment. That's America and that's capitalism(the greatest).

But he's absolutely delusional if he's going to get some company to pay him $750 month to sponsor a forum in which half the topics are about food and how fat ETB's mom is.

So serious business and the basement = half the forum?

How about this, since you're so successful, you just buy the website and run it yourself so that way justin gets paid and no one has to hear you complain about the same shit every post.

Everyone seems to have all of the answers on how to make money for the site. Unfortunately it's not that easy.

Correct. It's why I never even tried to get into AdSense and organic traffic.

Hypothetical: If i paid you $750 could I ban members?
  • justincredible
BTW, sleeper, the $750 sponsor level isn't something I expected someone to jump in on. Especially not right away. You seem to be stuck on that number and not the other sponsorship levels I am offering. What is the harm in offering a site-wide sponsorship at a price like that? Also, you seem to skip over the fact that I've stated the rates are flexible.

Of course, why would you be reasonable when your only purpose here is to question every fucking thing I do?

I don't think buying a small internet forum is a worthwhile investment.
