i would pitts in a class by themselves and then quite away down the list rots, then a big jump to whoever is next.

talk about a self fulfilling prophecy, a dog kills a kid, it must be the owner's. Why because it can not be the dog's fault.
why is that true, well one once licked my hand, so they must be nice.
Well it is the owner's fault in one way, they brought a killer into their home.

They have a higher rate of bad owners because they attract the thugs that want a tough dog that in turn makes them tough.

My wife sees about 300 dogs per month. Out of the vicious ones she sees (no mean bullys btw) the owners almost always say that the dog is an angel and never acts like that. Sorry, but I take most peoples word on their dogs temperment with a grain of salt.

So why would someone want to choose this breed to bring into their home with children, when it needs special attention and extra monitoring to not hurt anyone?

    And like I said...

Headline: Pit bull unexpectedly attacks and kills boy
Owner quote: "He was such a loving dog. He'd never hurt anyone."

    Until he killed your kid.

This is true. that isnt the dogs fault. When was the last time you saw a dog pick their owner?

So we can quit the debate that pit bulls are nice dogs that would never hurt anyone. As you see so often from those defending them.

No dog should ever be left alone with a baby.

Also, certain dogs like herding dogs, gsds and bully breed need owners who can be firm with the dog. Coincidentally, these same dogs also test the highest in intelligence and temperment tests.

I don't disagree. But yet they are. And pits have a higher rate of attacking, or at least killing, than other breeds.

So even though no breed should be left alone with a child, that doesn't negate that pits are more aggressive attackers than their counterparts.

    Comparing inanimate object to dogs?

    You're smarter than that.

You know that the point I was making. "Accidental" deaths like drowning, shootings, dog attacks... on children can be prevented, if the parents were to pay attention to their children.

Yep. Stupid owners lead to dead babies.

Your point is moot. Guns can't kill without a human using it. Dogs can.

Comparing inanimate objects to living objects is a terrible argument. You're smarter than that.

Stupid owners plus vicious breeds lead to dead babies.

i would really like to see a study done to see if pit bulls just naturally draw twisted an flawed owners.\
of course if that were true it would be another argument for restricting ownership
but until that study is completed and we have so many cases showing no obvious sign that owners are responsible for the attack, we come back to the fact that the dogs kill human especially little ones much more often than any other breed.

They have a higher amount of fatalities, yes, but they are not more likely to attack.

And i wouldnt say more aggressive, they are just stronger.

Stronger wouldn't matter if they weren't attacking. Dogs run loose around the neighborhood all the time. They don't attack.

Bullys are not a vicious breed.
