Pryor

They just made an interesting point on radio: Rapistfucker raped a few chicks and got a 4 game suspension... Pryor got a free tattoo and is getting a 5 game suspension.

Goodell is a jackass. Suspending Pryor for stuff he did in college? He better start suspending all the Miami players, as well as Reggie Bush and Pete Carroll.

I will dig for it but lebatard had a fantastic tweet about this being ludicrous.

The sad thing is in the CBA negotiations, the players signed off on letting Goodell maintain his supreme rule when it somes to this shit It's going to be like this until 2021, because the owners aren't going to get rid of him.

I like Goodell and hate pryor, but this is definitely ridiculous.

Actually, this will probably be the most expensive tatoo ever

If Pryor signs for 2 mill a year, At 125m a game, this tat will have cost him 625,000.00

    Merry fucking Christmas.

Not saying I agree with the suspension, but he didn't get it for the tattoo.

This....though don't you agree that the NFL could've saved itself a lot of public backlash had they given Pryor anything other than the exact same suspension he was facing from the NCAA? If he would've gotten a 4 game suspension for "undermining the integrity of the draft" or whatever than I don't think people would be quite as annoyed by the move.

Its unbelievable, players only get suspended 4 games for testing positive for steroids. Pryors attorney did say they will appeal it today after his agent said they wouldn't yesterday.

    Yes, you are probably right.

I find it really odd that now is the time that the NFL decides to crack down on infractions made by armature collegiate athletes. So the continued mistakes that coaches made while at say USC or Tenn are just fine. What a joke, That's the problem...they focus so much on the players and never punish those errors that coaches knowingly break over and over again and only get warnings.

I think the suspension is silly, as well. However, there is a difference between trying to manipulate the rules of the supplemental draft and declaring early for the regular draft. The, "oh they better go get the Miami players" still doesn't fit as long as those guys simply declared early and were taken in the regular draft. And the "better treat coaches the same way" doesn't apply either because coaches can come and go as they please. This is exclusively about the supplemental draft rules.

The problem with Pryor is that he tried to use hiring an agent as his reason for being declared ineligible after the regular draft. The NFL doesn't want this to be used by other players in the future who are simply trying to avoid a certain team.

This was brought up on another thread and Andrew Luck was used as an example. Say, for example he (Luck) didn't want to go to Carolina who was known to be picking a QB. So he doesn't enter the regular draft but then after that occurs, he goes and hires an agent and declares for the supplemental draft. There's nothing that would make him eligible other than the fact that he hired an agent. So technically, he'd have lost his eligibility but it was a conscious effort to do so in order to avoid going in the regular draft (in the example, this allowed him to avoid Carolina because they already took a QB and aren't likely to spend a draft pick from the next season on a QB, as well).

Pryor's suspension wasn't as much about the fact that he tried to escape a college penalty - if he'd declared for the regular draft there would have been no issue/suspension - as it was that he deliberately hired an agent and used that as grounds to be ruled ineligible for his entire college season (and thus, eligibile for the supplemental draft).
